Cai Lay District Youth: Volunteering for the community, taking the initiative to build the homeland

SPREAD THE SPIRIT OF LIVING BEAUTIFULLY AND USEFULLY

The Youth Union at all levels has organized tens of thousands of young people to participate in volunteer campaigns with practical projects and tasks. More than 30,000 young people have participated in activities such as building friendship houses, charity houses, providing free medical examinations, medicine distribution, and gifts for policy families and the poor. Many rural roads, bridges, and children's playgrounds have been built, contributing to changing the face of the countryside and promoting local socio -economic development.

Environmental protection and climate change response activities are also focused on with specific models such as: "People's markets reduce plastic waste", "Schools say no to single-use plastic products"... Thereby clearly demonstrating the pioneering and creative role of young people in participating in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

Youth Union members participate in salvaging water hyacinth from canals, contributing to clearing the flow.

Along with volunteer work, activities to care for the material and spiritual life of young union members and students have been implemented synchronously and extensively. Since the beginning of the term, the whole district has organized 36 activities to care for the physical and mental development of young people, with a total budget of 1.9 billion VND. In addition, 11,569 children in difficult circumstances have been supported.

In the field ofeducation , the District Youth Union mobilized hundreds of scholarships, tablets, and smartphones to help poor students overcome difficulties to go to school, with a total value of more than 1.9 billion VND. The teams mobilized more than 36,000 gifts, worth over 4.6 billion VND.

The movement “Lighting up the dreams of Vietnamese children” has been promoted, bringing a warm Mid-Autumn Festival to children. Activities such as “Cans of rice with love”, “Supermarket of love”, “Green knowledge garden”, “For the green of the homeland”… continue to spread widely, helping children nurture their dreams and live compassionately.

ACCOMPANYING YOUTH IN STARTING A CAREER

Deputy Secretary of Cai Lay District Youth Union Mai Huy Man said that the work of supporting young people in vocational training, finding jobs, and starting a business has been strongly implemented. During the half-term, the District Youth Union has supported many start-up projects for young people, effectively maintaining preferential loans with a total outstanding debt of more than 46 billion VND. Thereby, helping young people have more conditions to develop the economy and stabilize their lives in their hometown.

Notably, the District Youth Union has supported 29 creative start-up projects for young people with a total budget of 310 million VND; maintained 21 loan groups and a revolving fund of 405 million VND within the Youth Union. In addition, it has coordinated to disburse 500 million VND to 10 young people starting a business in My Thanh Bac commune.

Along with that, activities to equip life skills, improve physical fitness, and improve cultural and spiritual life for adolescents are promoted. Skills training sessions, creative experience activities, sports and fitness programs are organized regularly, creating a comprehensive development environment for adolescents.

The work of consolidating and improving the quality of the Youth Union and Association organizations has always been focused on. The Youth Union at all levels has flexibly innovated the content and methods of operation; focused on building strong grassroots organizations, expanding the solidarity front to gather young people.

During the half-term, the district has developed 5,639 new union members. The rate of solidarity and gathering of youth in the area reached nearly 60%; in particular, the Youth Union has promoted its core political role, organized 105 Union sympathy classes for 5,360 outstanding youth and team members; introduced 316 outstanding union members to the Party, of which 234 comrades were admitted.

Typical models and movements such as "Volunteer Saturday", "Green Sunday", "Self-managed Youth Route", "Traffic Safety School Gate" have aroused the sense of responsibility and creativity in each cadre and member, contributing to improving the quality of grassroots Youth Union organizations...

With the spirit of "Where there is a need, there is youth, where there is difficulty, there is youth", the youth of Cai Lay district have been affirming their role as the core and pioneering force in the development of their homeland. The outstanding results in the past half term are the result of the dynamism, responsibility and dedication of a generation of young people with rich ideals, ready to take the lead for the community.
