Less than an hour after Indonesia was eliminated from the 4th round of the 2026 World Cup Asian qualifiers, criticism of coach Patrick Kluivert flooded Indonesian football forums. On the Indonesian team's Facebook page, there were also many calls for the Dutch coach to leave.

Nuntung TN wrote: "Kluivert should go away. His leadership skills are too poor." Fan Enda Jancukers commented: "Kluivert is the one who is mainly responsible for this defeat. He doesn't know how to make substitutions and his tactics are too bad."

Supporter Nataniel Lusma wrote: "After the change of coach, I actually predicted this outcome. Especially before the start of round 4, everything was clearer... Indonesian press also confirmed that the Dutch coach was considered a failure because he could not lead the Indonesian national team to the 2026 World Cup.

Indonesian netizens and the public are also launching a hashtag movement: "Patrick Kluivert out" and "Erick Thohir out" on social media X. These two hashtags even became trending topics with at least 17,000 uploads for the hashtag #KluivertOut and 7,000 uploads for the hashtag #ErickOut.
