The streets are filled with red. Christmas is no longer just for Christians. It has become a festive time with fashion, music , and parties. My little boy, who is not yet 4 years old, can already hum Christmas carols.
Because along the way from home to school, passing by many shops, there are always typical cheerful music. And as for the decorations, since the beginning of December, young people in the city have been telling each other about the beautiful Christmas decoration locations.
They dress up in their best clothes so as not to be lost in the brilliant spaces of the shops. From the green and red of the pine trees to the sparkling colors of the miniature landscapes, laurel wreaths, banquet tables, nativity scenes, and even snow made from many materials... it is enough to create a Christmas in a tropical land.
Strings of silk lanterns in all shapes and sizes symbolize winter festivities. Whether the weather is chilly enough or not, the decorations and music alone make the last days of December a special occasion.
And the experiences are getting richer because the world loves connections. From Australia, an old teacher likes to tell Christmas stories from the land of kangaroos to children in Quang Nam. From America, a young man wants to bring special Thanksgiving rituals with their own nuances to Vietnamese children. In the space of light and color, language becomes a secondary factor when the main bridge is the mindset of experiencing the special moment of the changing seasons.
The children still wait for good things to come, knowing how to cling to the promise in the letter to Santa to gradually become better, perhaps that is the “legacy” that Christmas leaves for every child everywhere. Although many times we intend to tell our son who is starting to grow up that Santa Claus and his reindeer are like a fairy tale, but looking into their expectant eyes, it seems that they are never willing. And which parent does not want to be Santa to their children for the rest of their lives?
From Christmas to New Year, the atmosphere of heaven and earth and people seems to be more joyful. It is different from the atmosphere of December when each passing day brings closer to the sacred moment, urging the footsteps to hurry and hurry.
The Christmas season is like a real break, where everything just stops. And also like a pause - where a charging station is set up for Asians, slowing down a bit to enter the end of the year, bustling and waiting for spring...
