Better Choice Awards Announced to Celebrate Innovation

Mr. Vu Quoc Huy, Director of the National Innovation Center, said that with Better Choice Awards, hundreds of products, from new technology applications and solutions, advanced vehicles to unique consumer services are selected for evaluation and voting.

On September 18, 2023, the Better Choice Awards were officially announced. This is an annual award organized by the National Innovation Center ( Ministry of Planning and Investment ) in collaboration with VCCorp, to honor innovations applied in practice, bringing practical benefits to consumers with the desire to create different values for the community.

The innovative value of Better Choice Awards comes from its unique award system, which does not divide products by segment but goes directly to the needs of consumers. Better Choice Awards does not seek to find products that are rated as “best” by product category, but instead suggests to consumers “better” upgrade options than what they already have, according to the purpose and needs of each individual customer group.

Mr. Vu Quoc Huy, Director of the National Innovation Center, commented: “Consumers are the ultimate measure of a product's success. What they need is a product that meets their needs and is suitable for their personal conditions. With Better Choice Awards, hundreds of products, from new technology applications and solutions, advanced vehicles to unique consumer services are selected for evaluation and voting. Being nominated for the Better Choice Awards means that the brand's products have been guaranteed in terms of quality and trust by prominent experts in the industry, influential figures in society and the community - the end users.”

Mr. Nguyen Dang Ngoc, Deputy General Director of VCCorp Joint Stock Company said: “Instead of looking for the “best”, we want to give users and customers the “most suitable” product suggestions for each of their purposes and usage needs. It may not be the “most comprehensive” product, but it is the most reasonable upgrade suggestion compared to what they currently have.”

This year, the theme of the Better Choice Awards focuses on two industries that are considered to have the fastest pace of innovation: Consumer Technology (Smart Choice Awards) and Automobiles (Car Choice Awards). In addition, the awards also reveal the expectation of expanding to other consumer sectors with the Innovative Choice Awards system, focusing on all other consumer industries in the market.

The awards are divided into several phases. The Smart Choice Awards and Car Choice Awards will start the nomination process from August 18, 2023 to September 18, 2023, open public voting from September 18, 2023, and end voting and scoring from October 10, 2023.

With the Innovative Choice Awards, the innovation award category will open nominations and public voting to all consumers nationwide from October 1, 2023 and end voting on October 22, 2023.

The Better Choice Awards 2023 Gala, which honors all three award categories, is expected to take place on the evening of October 29, 2023 at the new facility of the National Innovation Center of Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park (NIC Hoa Lac).

In addition, sideline activities such as cultural experience journey, interaction with Vietnamese people - Road to Better Choice, or test drive area dedicated to both cars and motorbikes at the Innovation Center in Hoa Lac for 5 days from October 28, 2023 to November 5, 2023.
