The People's Public Security Union won the Northern Region Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament.

After a tense penalty shootout, the People's Public Security Trade Union defeated the Vietnam Banking Trade Union with a score of 5-4, becoming the champion of the northern region.

The final match of the Northern Regional Qualifying Round of the Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament 2025 took place this afternoon, October 5, at the University of Science and Technology Stadium ( Hanoi ).

In the first minutes, the Vietnam Bank Union was the team that pressed the field. The Police Union chose a defensive style of play, staying deep and waiting for the opportunity to counterattack.

Although there were many dangerous opportunities for the opponent, at the end of 60 minutes of official play, neither team scored a goal, the score was still 0-0.

Entering the penalty shootout, with better spirit, the Public Security Union won with a close score of 5-4 and won the northern regional championship.

The northern region qualifying round started on October 3, gathering 16 participating teams, including: Bac Ninh 1 Trade Union, Vietnam Education Trade Union, Ninh Binh Trade Union, Hai Phong City Trade Union, Dien Bien Trade Union, Hung Yen Trade Union, Hanoi City Trade Union, Bac Ninh 2 Trade Union, Phu Tho Trade Union, Vietnam Health Trade Union, People's Public Security Trade Union, Vietnam Bank Trade Union, Vietnam Industry and Trade Trade Union, State Bank, VPBank, Agribank .

The 16 teams are divided into 4 groups, playing a round robin to determine the 4 group winners and 4 group runners-up to advance to the quarter-finals. The quarter-finals are organized in a knockout format. The four teams that qualify for the semi-finals will simultaneously receive tickets to the national finals. Meanwhile, the 4 teams that stop in the quarter-finals will continue to compete in the play-off to select the remaining 2 tickets to the finals.

After the final match, the Organizing Committee awarded the Northern regional qualifying round prizes up to 170 million VND. Of which, the CAND Trade Union team, the champion of the regional qualifying round, received 60 million VND, the Vietnam Bank Trade Union was awarded second place and received 40 million VND, the Bac Ninh 1 Trade Union Team and the Hai Phong Trade Union tied for third place, each receiving 20 million VND.

In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded the following secondary prizes: best player of the match to player Nguyen Anh Son (Vietnam Bank Trade Union); the prize for player with most goals to player Nguyen Cong Dinh (CAND Trade Union); Goalkeeper Pham Thanh Tung (CAND Trade Union) was awarded the prize for best goalkeeper...

The 16 best teams in the qualifying round will qualify for the national finals, taking place in October in Ho Chi Minh City.

The total prize of the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament is up to 900 million VND. Of which, the national final champion team will receive 200 million VND.

The Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament is an annual tournament jointly organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Vietnam Football Federation and Tuoi Tre Newspaper.
