Publicize fares, strictly handle violations of illegal buses and stations on the occasion of April 30

The Ministry of Transport has just sent an official dispatch to relevant agencies, units, organizations and individuals in the entire transport sector regarding strengthening solutions to better serve people's travel needs and ensure traffic order and safety during the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day and the 5-day April 30-May 1 holiday (from April 29 to May 3).

Authorities requested the Vietnam Road Administration to guide and urge local transport departments to direct transport businesses and bus stations to publicly, transparently and in accordance with regulations on transport fares , prices and service fees at bus stations; have appropriate transport organization plans, carry the correct permitted load, the correct number of people according to regulations, ensure capacity and quality of transport services and comply with regulations on disease prevention and control, COVID-19.

The Department of Roads is also responsible for coordinating with the Department of Transport to manage the operations of transport vehicles (regarding speed, operating routes, continuous driving time and working hours of drivers during the day...) through extracting data from vehicle tracking devices.

In addition, the Department of Roads directed the Department's inspection force to coordinate with the Department of Transport of Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City and some localities with many "illegal buses, illegal stations" and overloaded vehicles to strengthen inspection and handle violations according to regulations.

For road toll stations , BOT investors need to develop plans to ensure security and order, traffic flow when traffic volume increases suddenly, promptly handle and clear vehicles to limit congestion before entering the road toll station.

The Ministry of Transport also requested the Vietnam Expressway Administration to strengthen coordination with functional forces to carry out fire prevention, fire fighting, and handle incidents and traffic accidents according to the law to ensure traffic on expressways.

The Department of Construction Investment Management is responsible for strengthening the inspection of construction units to strictly ensure traffic safety when constructing works; restore road surfaces and construction measures so as not to affect people's travel; require drivers and vehicle owners to transport construction materials for works with the correct permitted tonnage according to regulations.

The Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration directs inland waterway port authorities to resolutely suspend the operation of illegal ferry terminals, passenger vehicles that do not meet safety standards, violate regulations on registration and inspection, are not equipped with adequate life-saving equipment, and vehicle operators do not have appropriate licenses or professional certificates.

Vietnam Railways Corporation strengthens inspection and supervision of railway staff directly serving train operations, especially on-duty staff, train drivers, level crossing guards, and bridge guards, and strictly handles organizations and individuals who allow accidents to occur due to subjectivity; strengthens vigilance at self-opened railway crossings and level crossings with high risk of traffic accidents.

The Department of Transport of provinces and centrally-run cities shall strengthen coordination with the functional forces of the Public Security sector in the work of checking the technical safety conditions of vehicles and drivers of vehicles engaged in transport business./.
