Mining capacity of construction materials reaches more than 3 million m3/year

According to statistics from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, up to now, the total licensed mining capacity of construction materials (VLXD) in the province (not including confirmation of mining registration in the project area) has reached 3,059,068m3/year, an increase of 50% compared to 2024.

Many mines increased their mining capacity to meet the demand for construction materials at the end of the year.

Of which, construction stone reached 1,603,713 m3/year, an increase of 45.4%; sand and gravel reached 422,250 m3/year; and fill soil reached 1,033,105 m3/year, an increase of 48.8%.

The Department focused on handling 32 administrative procedures related to the field of mineral resources; submitted to the Provincial People's Committee to issue 2 exploration licenses, 9 mineral exploitation licenses, approve the reserves of 2 quarries; approve the fee for granting rights and confirm the registration of the mining area of ​​12 projects; approve the fee for granting rights and permit the exploitation of soil and waste rock as filling materials at 1 quarry; issue 1 decision to close the quarry; approve the plan for auctioning mineral exploitation rights in 2025.

Guide units licensed to exploit minerals to carry out procedures to request license adjustments and increase mining capacity to gradually resolve the shortage of construction materials in the province. Coordinate the appraisal of dossiers requesting approval of investment policies for the Project to exploit and process sand and gravel for common construction materials at the Na Khoang sand and gravel mine and Phia La stone mine...

For the Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway Project, the Department advised the Provincial People's Committee to grant an exploitation license with a total volume of soil and rock in phase 1 of the Project of more than 6.5 million m3, including nearly 5.8 million m3 of soil and more than 742 thousand m3 of rock. Currently, the volume of licensed filled soil basically meets the demand for phase 1. For the remaining lack of rock demand, the Department issued Official Dispatch No. 587/SNNMT-ĐCKS, dated March 31, 2025 and Official Dispatch No. 1188/SNNMT-ĐCKS, dated April 25, 2025 (2nd urging) requesting the Project Enterprise to urgently carry out the registration procedure for exploiting rock minerals for common construction materials according to the special mechanism of the National Assembly .
