The construction site does not close for holidays.

While many people were enjoying the April 30th and May 1st holidays, at the construction site of the Tuyen Quang-Ha Giang expressway (phase 1) section passing through Tuyen Quang province, hundreds of officials, engineers, and workers were still diligently working in a tense and decisive atmosphere to accelerate the progress of this key national project.

The Ham Yen Bridge, spanning the Lo River and part of package number 24, has reached 65% completion.

At the construction site of Ngoi La 2 Bridge, part of package 24 awarded to Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company, construction is proceeding rapidly during the April 30th and May 1st holidays. Under the sweltering early summer sun, dozens of workers remain highly focused, divided into numerous teams to lay steel reinforcement and pour concrete according to strict procedures, ensuring the quality of every detail.

Engineer Luong Xuan Tuyen from Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company shared: “We identified Ngoi La 2 Bridge as a crucial link connecting the project's sections, so we focused all our efforts on accelerating progress. During the holiday, the company maintained a team of about 25 engineers and workers, divided into three shifts, to work on the construction site. The company increased the allowance by 300% for those working throughout the holiday, which is also a great motivation for the engineers and workers to be even more determined.”

Mr. Le Duc Tranh, Director of the Project Management Board for Package 24, Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company, said: “The company is currently constructing 20 bridges on the route. Currently, about 270 workers and technical staff are working throughout the holiday on the various sections of the route. Among them, the Ham Yen bridge over the Lo River is the largest project among the company's ongoing projects, with a length of 34.3 meters. To date, the construction volume has reached 65%, and the main span of the bridge is expected to be completed on August 20th, ensuring the bridge is finished on schedule.”

Mr. Tranh added, "The officials, engineers, and workers who worked throughout the holiday had to put aside their joy of not being able to visit home, but they are all proud to contribute to the construction of the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway, a key national project. Therefore, the company always strives to ensure the progress and quality of the project and strictly adheres to safety procedures, preventing even the smallest oversight."

The section from km 67+800 to km 77+00, part of package 23, is being constructed by Vinh Thinh 122 Construction and Investment Joint Stock Company. The terrain is complex and mountainous, with a geological foundation primarily consisting of rock mixed with soil. The large volume of excavation and embankment requires a combination of technical solutions such as blasting, rock breaking, deep excavation, and roadbed treatment. The company is also responsible for constructing pedestrian underpasses and installing box culverts and circular culverts along this section. Despite the April 30th and May 1st holidays, all technical staff and workers of the company remained on-site, working in shifts continuously to ensure the project's progress.

Mr. Pham Van Huan, Chairman of 122 Vinh Thinh Construction and Investment Joint Stock Company, said: The company has mobilized 22 excavators, 39 trucks, 12 bulldozers, 28 rollers, one drilling machine, one grader, three wheel loaders, two water tanks, one fuel tanker, four concrete mixers, one concrete pump truck, and set up a concrete mixing plant to serve the construction. When the weather is favorable, the company excavates and fills about 30,000 m3 of soil and over 4,500 m3 of rock each day. Construction progress is being carried out vigorously to make up for the days when rain prevented construction.

“For the company's staff and workers, holidays are not a time for rest, but an opportunity to work harder and accelerate outdoor projects. Most of the company's staff and workers voluntarily stay and work throughout the holidays, hoping that the project will be completed and put into use as soon as possible, contributing to the local economic development,” Mr. Huan shared.

Comrade Nguyen Thien Tuyen, Director of the Investment and Construction Project Management Board of Tuyen Quang province (the project's investor), said that in response to the "500 days and nights to complete 3,000 km of expressways" emulation movement launched by the Prime Minister , the Project Management Board has proactively and decisively implemented tasks to ensure the progress of the Tuyen Quang-Ha Giang expressway project, the section passing through Tuyen Quang province. To date, 69.4/69.7 km of land has been handed over, reaching 99.57%. As of April 23, the value of construction work completed reached VND 1,611.66/VND 4,789.751 billion, achieving 33.65% of the total contract value.

In particular, during this year's April 30th and May 1st holidays, all construction units along the route mobilized manpower along with a total of 967 pieces of equipment, vehicles, and machinery, and deployed 111 construction teams to organize continuous construction throughout the holidays without interruption, demonstrating a high sense of responsibility and determination to complete the project on schedule. The units are determined to complete the underpasses and drainage culverts before May 15th; complete the road embankment excavation before June 10th; and complete the asphalt concrete pavement, traffic safety system, lighting system, drainage ditches, and 24 bridges along the route before December 25th.
