COVID-19: Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training issues important notice to schools across the city

On May 27, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training sent an official dispatch toeducational institutions across the city to proactively implement COVID-19 prevention and control in educational institutions in the city in the current situation.

According to the Department of Education and Training, based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Health in May 2025 on measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic in the community, especially in the context of signs of increasing cases in some countries in the region; based on the official dispatch of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health on proactively implementing COVID-19 prevention and control in the city in the current situation, the Department requests heads of units to seriously implement the contents.

Specifically, strengthen communication, monitoring, and early detection: Strengthen communication and propaganda activities on disease prevention in schools about symptoms and ways to prevent COVID-19 for students, teachers, and parents; focus on propaganda and mobilization to implement measures to prevent and control COVID-19, risk factors, and harmful effects of the disease.

Students of Dang Tran Con Primary School (District 4, Ho Chi Minh City) are given antiseptic solution to prevent and fight the COVID-19 epidemic.

Closely coordinate with local health stations to detect suspected cases early; monitor, detect, investigate people with infectious diseases, monitor pathogens, and handle outbreaks (if any). Protect high-risk groups, pay attention to strengthening protection and support for students with underlying diseases, elderly teachers, people with weak immune systems, underlying diseases, teachers, and pregnant women. Encourage wearing masks in closed, crowded spaces.

Proactively prepare epidemic prevention and control plans: Review and update the unit's epidemic prevention and control plan; continue to implement infection prevention and control according to the People's Committee's documents and professional instructions from the health sector. Ensure adequate antiseptic solutions, medical masks, organize cleaning of classrooms, toilets, and public areas.

Communication activities to protect health and prevent COVID-19 epidemic at Dang Tran Con Primary School (District 4)

Strictly follow the recommendations of the Ministry of Health (May 2025): Wear a mask in public places, on public transport, and at medical facilities. Wash your hands regularly with clean water, soap, or antiseptic solution.

Recommendations for personal disease prevention measures: Increase physical activity, exercise, and eat a balanced diet. Limit gathering in crowded places if not necessary. If you have symptoms of fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, go immediately to the nearest medical facility for timely examination, monitoring, and treatment.

In particular, when detecting a suspected case or unusual situation, immediately report to the Department of Education and Training of the district, county and Thu Duc City and coordinate with local health authorities to handle it according to the correct procedure.

Fully implement the regime of reporting and declaring infectious diseases and epidemics according to regulations. The Department also requested units to be proactive and flexible in implementation, not to create panic, but still ensure the health and safety of students and teachers, contributing to stabilizing educational activities.
