(NLDO) – A male student in Ca Mau who "disappeared" after complaining about getting a low score in math was rescued by locals 2 nautical miles from the coast.

On the afternoon of May 29, a leader of the People's Committee of Song Doc town, Tran Van Thoi district, Ca Mau province said that they had found H.D.GB (13 years old, student of Song Doc Secondary School 1).

"B. was rescued by a local while he was visiting a fishing village about 2 nautical miles from the coast. His family came to pick him up and he is in stable condition," the official added.

As reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper , at around 9:00 p.m. on May 28, B.'s biological father went to Song Doc Town Police to report his son's "missing" status.

According to the report, at around 5 p.m. that same day, after asking his parents to go out, B. left home on his electric bike. When he did not return that evening, his family went looking for him but could not find him. After receiving the information, the police organized a search and discovered B.'s electric bike parked in the middle of Song Doc bridge but could not find him.

Initial verification results show that B. confided to his classmates: "I got a low score in math. This afternoon, when my mother comes home from a parent-teacher meeting, I'll probably jump off the bridge. I'm so sad, everyone in my family is good at studying, but I'm a bad student."
