On the morning of May 29, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City organized a training session for all leaders and secretaries of examination sites in the upcoming 10th grade entrance exam.
Speaking at the opening of the training session, Mr. Le Hoai Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized the strict requirements for all invigilators and heads of examination sites to properly implement the examination steps and procedures according to current regulations.
The department’s leaders asked the invigilators to constantly remind students. He explained that because of being anxious about studying, students may accidentally forget that they are not allowed to bring their phones into the exam room. When the phone rings, the student has violated the regulations, so if a student brings a phone into the exam room, it is the invigilators’ responsibility.
At the same time, the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training requested that exam invigilators absolutely not put pressure on students in the exam room and not use phones to take pictures of exam scores to post on social networks when the exam has not ended.
He also paid special attention to handling unusual situations. Accordingly, when any incident occurs outside the procedure at the examination site or examination room, the invigilator in the examination room must immediately report to the head of the examination site, and the head of the examination site is responsible for urgently reporting to the Department of Education and Training.
"Absolutely do not handle these situations on your own," said Mr. Nam.
At the same time, the Department's leaders affirmed that students' interests must be put first throughout the exam organization process.
In this exam, the responsibility of the test site leader is very important.
"The Department of Education and Training has issued instructions, testing sites must follow the regulations, no creativity is allowed. If there is any mistake in any step, the head of the site will be responsible to the Department," Mr. Le Hoai Nam affirmed.
The 10th grade entrance exam in 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City is scheduled to take place on June 6-7, with a total of 76,435 candidates registered.
One notable point is that this year, the number of 9th grade students has decreased significantly compared to previous years, which is expected to reduce competitive pressure in public high schools.
The total enrollment target for 115 public high schools is 70,070 students. To ensure the exam runs smoothly, the city has established 158 examination boards with 4,424 examination rooms, mobilizing a large force of 13,272 invigilators and 2,070 service staff.
The exam marking is expected to take place from June 8-25. Notably, from the 2025-2026 school year, Ho Chi Minh City will have changes in the admission process for specialized classes, accordingly, only Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted and Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted will conduct admission to specialized 10th grade.
