Sesko was brought on in the 58th minute to replace Matheus Cunha, but only played for 30 minutes before having to leave the field in the 88th minute. The Slovenian striker was injured after a collision with Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven. Although he was able to walk off the field after receiving medical care, his situation still caused concern for the MU coaching staff.
Speaking after the match, coach Amorim said of Sesko: "We need to check more. He felt pain in his knee, and that worries me a lot. We think he has a real problem."
Asked if Sesko could be out for a long time, Amorim added: “With a knee injury, no one can say anything in advance. At the moment, what worries me most is not Sesko's performance, but the condition of this injury."
Sesko’s injury comes at a sensitive time, as MU is about to lose more key players due to serving the national team. Next month, Amad Diallo (Ivory Coast), Noussair Mazraoui (Morocco) and Bryan Mbeumo (Cameroon) will attend CAN 2025, leaving MU short of players.
Coach Amorim admitted that the team may be forced to add personnel in the January transfer window. "We have anticipated that since the summer, but now we need to prepare carefully. When the market opens, if there is an opportunity to improve the squad, MU will have to act," Amorim shared.
