According to the open letter, business activities in the form of e-commerce, on digital platforms are increasingly developing strongly and becoming a popular trend. To facilitate taxpayers in fulfilling their tax obligations, tax authorities have applied information technology in tax registration, declaration and payment such as: eTax Mobile application, Electronic information portal for households and individuals doing business, guiding domestic and foreign e-commerce platforms and digital platforms to declare and pay tax obligations on behalf of taxpayers doing business on e-commerce platforms and digital platforms, and automatic personal income tax refunds. At the same time, tax authorities at all levels have also increased propaganda and direct support at tax authority headquarters and through mass media, helping taxpayers access information and operate more conveniently.

However, in addition to individuals and organizations that comply with tax laws, there are still a number of enterprises, business households, and individuals who have not registered for business or tax, have under-declared revenue, or have not fully fulfilled their tax obligations. This not only causes loss of revenue to the state budget but also creates unfair competition.

In the spirit of respecting the law and the principle of “taxpayers self-declaring, self-paying, and self-responsible”, the tax authority continues to promote propaganda and support, while strengthening supervision, inspection, and strict handling of tax law violations. In cases of intentional non-compliance with tax obligations, the tax authority will consolidate the records, transfer them to competent authorities for investigation, and handle tax evasion in accordance with the law.
