In the spirit of respecting the law and the principle of "taxpayers self-declaring, self-paying, self-responsible", the tax authority conducts propaganda, support, supervision, inspection, and handling of tax violations. The Tax Department recommends that taxpayers with e-commerce business activities and business on digital platforms proactively approach and learn about tax laws and comply with tax registration, tax declaration, and tax payment.

For individuals who have been doing e-commerce business or doing business on digital platforms but have not yet registered for tax, they need to urgently register, declare and pay taxes fully, on time and promptly with the tax authorities.

In case the taxpayer does not cooperate, the tax authority will inspect and strictly handle business activities that do not perform or do not fully perform tax obligations as prescribed. In cases of intentional non-compliance, the tax authority will consolidate the records and transfer them to the competent authority to investigate and handle tax evasion in accordance with the law.

According to the Tax Department, in recent times, e-commerce and digital business have become popular choices for many businesses, business households, and individual businesses. These business activities have more advantages than traditional business due to easy access to customers, diverse forms of transportation and payment. This innovation has contributed significantly to business development, improved business efficiency of households and individuals, and contributed to increasing revenue for the state budget.

To create the most favorable conditions for taxpayers to fulfill their tax obligations, the tax sector has applied and deployed information technology solutions in tax registration, declaration and payment such as: eTax Mobile application, electronic information portal for households and individual businesses...

However, up to now, there are still a number of enterprises that have not registered for business, registered for tax, declared insufficient revenue, and have not fully fulfilled tax obligations from business activities on e-commerce and digital platforms, causing loss of state budget revenue, violating the law and unfair competition.

According to statistics from the Tax Department of Region XV, by early 2025, in Dong Nai province, there were over 52,000 taxpayers registered to use the eTax Mobile electronic tax application on mobile phones. Of the registered users, nearly 38,000 transactions were made via the eTax Mobile application. Of which, the amount of tax paid via eTax Mobile was over 149 billion VND.
