On the morning of October 13, at the 16th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Sports , in response to the press's question "Why has the Vietnamese team not recently played at My Dinh Stadium, but instead "wandered" to other stadiums?", Director of the Vietnam Sports Department Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet gave a rather detailed answer.
My Dinh Stadium is 100% autonomous
Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet said: “The use of the word “wandering” is incorrect, because all activities of the sports industry, especially football, are carried out according to plans and have specific calculations. The national team’s competition schedule is always clearly defined, there is no lack of direction. The national sports complex (of which My Dinh Stadium is one of the two main construction clusters - in addition to the Water Sports Palace), is the unit assigned to be 100% autonomous.
In addition to serving sports activities, My Dinh Stadium also serves other political and cultural tasks. Because it is a completely autonomous unit, the complex is allowed to operate and do business in accordance with the law.

My Dinh Stadium has been officially used since 2003.

The matches of the Vietnamese team are held at stadiums to serve audiences across the country.
Sports industry leaders emphasized that My Dinh Stadium is currently in the process of being repaired and upgraded, including technical infrastructure and grass.
This is a time-consuming task and must be carried out according to an approved plan. My Dinh Stadium is 100% state-owned property, managed by the sports industry, serving not only football but also many other sports such as athletics, swimming and national events.

The Vietnamese team practiced at My Dinh Stadium a few years ago.
Recently, according to the proposal of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the team's matches were held at Phu Tho Stadium, then Go Dau Stadium, Thong Nhat Stadium. The choice of competition venue is not limited to Hanoi , because the national team belongs to the whole country, and competing in many localities is also a way for fans from all regions to have the opportunity to approach and cheer directly.
My Dinh Stadium remains the top priority of the sports industry and will continue to serve international matches when the upgrade is completed. However, the stadium has also been used for many other activities such as cultural and political events. This is a general coordination, ensuring the effective exploitation of this key project. My Dinh Stadium is also used to serve many major events of the country.
The sports sector and relevant units will coordinate closely to ensure that My Dinh Stadium meets professional standards for competition, and at the same time develop a long-term strategy to distribute matches in many localities - both serving the profession and spreading the love of football to a large number of people across the country.
