Ho Chi Minh City shares difficulties with Khanh Hoa province
On November 23, comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, led a delegation of Ho Chi Minh City to visit and encourage the forces overcoming the consequences of floods in Khanh Hoa province. Comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc said: Ho Chi Minh City shares the difficulties and losses of Khanh Hoa province and affirmed that it will focus on supporting the locality to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
The working delegation visited the workers of Ho Chi Minh City Urban Environment Company Limited who are supporting Khanh Hoa in cleaning up the environment; volunteers of the field kitchen at Nha Trang University; inspected the transportation of support goods from Ho Chi Minh City Youth Volunteers to Khanh Hoa Provincial Military Command; surveyed Co.opmart Nha Trang supermarket to ensure there is no shortage of goods and no price increases.
In the immediate future, Ho Chi Minh City will provide emergency support of VND50 billion to Khanh Hoa province and implement activities, including: 4 kitchens providing 24,000 meals/day, 50,000 essential gift bags, 10,000 family medicine bags, 10,000 life jackets, 150 tons of goods; arranging 30-50 doctors to support medical examination and treatment. Ho Chi Minh City will also support school repairs, restore 550 telecommunication stations; mobilize vehicles, cleaning personnel, and 400 volunteers to support Khanh Hoa.
Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Secretary Nghiem Xuan Thanh said that as of November 23, the initial damage to infrastructure in the area was estimated at about VND5,100 billion (not including the damage to people). To overcome the situation, the province plans to support people whose houses collapsed with VND60 million, repair VND30 million; support families severely damaged by floods with VND1 million/person and support primary school students and above in families damaged by floods to buy school books with VND500,000/person. The locality has also focused on mobilizing forces to support people in cleaning up the environment, prioritizing schools and hospitals...
On the same day, Khanh Hoa province received more than 100 tons of necessities transported by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Volunteer Force to promptly support people affected by the recent floods. In addition, the locality also received dozens of tons of goods and necessities sent from many provinces and cities across the country.
From November 24 to December 6, the Institute of Vaccines and Medical Biologicals (IVAC) will provide free injections of purified tetanus antitoxin serum and adsorbed tetanus vaccine to flood victims in Khanh Hoa province and rescue forces.
Military Region 5 and Military Region 7 participate in overcoming the problem.
In recent days, in response to the complicated developments of the floods, Military Region 5 established a Forward Command Post in Defense Area 6 - Tuy Hoa, deployed 2 working groups and mobilized nearly 7,500 officers and soldiers along with 144 vehicles, including 2 helicopters. The forces evacuated 7,232 households (29,983 people), provided emergency rescue to more than 6,300 households; distributed more than 5 tons of essential goods, 20,000 gift bags; organized 15 field kitchens, cooked more than 27,000 meals; dropped relief goods by helicopter to Hoa Xuan commune; cleaned schools, medical stations, roads, and houses for 460 households.

On the morning of November 23, 100 officers and soldiers of Brigade 368 were present at Nhon Binh Secondary School (Quy Nhon Dong Ward) to clear mud, clean the school yard, tables and chairs, and classrooms to welcome students back soon. Next, the Mi-17 helicopter of Regiment 930 departed from Phu Cat Airport (Gia Lai), carrying 1.5 tons of food, provisions and essential necessities, such as: dry food, cakes, milk, drinking water, life jackets... to supply isolated people in Tuy An Dong and Tuy An Tay communes and Long Thang Stadium area (Dak Lak Province); the helicopter of Regiment 930 continued to carry out the second round of relief cargo drop flights, supporting people in Hoa Xuan Ward (Dak Lak Province)...
As of the afternoon of November 23, some residential areas in Hoa Xuan commune were still submerged in floodwaters. Hundreds of volunteer groups from all over the country brought food and necessities to support the people.
In Lam Dong province, the Military Region 7 Command has reinforced the 302nd Infantry Division with 202 officers and soldiers and the 25th Engineering Brigade with 125 comrades to the communes of Lac Duong, D'ran, Ka Do, Don Duong, Duc Trong and Cat Tien area to participate in responding to and overcoming the consequences caused by floods. Here, in addition to the command vehicle, the units also mobilized 24 trucks, 2 ambulances, 2 military control vehicles, and 5 speedboats.
Immediately after the water began to recede, officers and soldiers actively cleaned up roads, infrastructure, schools, and agricultural production areas of people in Lam Dong province, thereby helping people to stabilize their lives soon.
In Ia Pa commune (Gia Lai province), for the past 3 days, 75 officers and soldiers of Brigade 7 (Army Corps 34) have coordinated with local forces to clean up mud that had flooded classrooms and houses, clear sewers, and repair roads. Mr. Le Tien Manh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ia Pa commune, said that thanks to the help of the army, the school has been cleaned up, ready to welcome students back, and many houses have also been repaired, helping people live in peace.
