Ho Chi Minh City supports 20 billion VND for Thai Nguyen province to overcome damage caused by storms and floods.

On November 17, a delegation from Ho Chi Minh City led by Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, visited, encouraged and presented funding to support Thai Nguyen province in overcoming damage caused by storms and floods.

Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City supported 20 billion VND, of which 500 million VND was for Thuong Dinh Secondary School and 2 billion VND was for Military Region 1 to repair works affected by natural disasters. The delegation also presented many gifts to students, people and forces participating in responding to and overcoming the consequences of storms and floods in the area.

On behalf of the City's leaders, comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc conveyed the regards, sharing and encouragement of comrade Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to the Party Committee, government and people of Thai Nguyen province. He emphasized that this support demonstrates the spirit of "Ho Chi Minh City with the whole country, for the whole country", the deep affection that Ho Chi Minh City wants to send to people in areas affected by natural disasters, contributing to the early stabilization of life, production recovery and socio- economic development.

Of which, Ho Chi Minh City has supported more than 59.4 billion VND to help Thai Nguyen province overcome the damage caused by storms and floods. Specifically, supporting the province to carry out 9 projects of bridges, roads, schools, medical stations... especially civil works.

On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Thai Nguyen province, comrade Dinh Quang Tuyen, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thai Nguyen province, sincerely thanked the sentiments and timely sharing of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City. He affirmed that the support source will be transferred to the right address, contributing to helping people soon restore production and stabilize their lives after natural disasters.

On the same day, the Ho Chi Minh City delegation also awarded 2 billion VND to support Military Region 1 to overcome damage caused by storms and floods in 2025.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc affirmed the close affection and special attention of Ho Chi Minh City for the armed forces of Military Region 1, hoping that this support source will contribute to helping the units soon overcome difficulties, stabilize training work, and be ready for combat.

On behalf of the Party Committee - Command of Military Region 1, Major General La Cong Phuong thanked the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City for their timely and kind support; at the same time, he affirmed that this is an important source of encouragement for officers and soldiers of the entire Military Region to strive to overcome difficulties and successfully complete assigned tasks.

During the working trip, the delegation of Ho Chi Minh City and Military Region 1 offered incense and flowers at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument, the Memorial House for Heroic Martyrs and the memorial site for 60 martyrs of the 915 Youth Volunteer Company - those who heroically sacrificed their lives while performing their duty to support the Southern battlefield on December 24, 1972.
