The magazine used artificial intelligence to create a fictional interview with former Formula 1 driver Michael Schumacher, 54. The publication, which was launched last week, has caused controversy in Germany and attracted international media and public attention.

Following the negative reaction caused by the fictional interview, the editor-in-chief of Die Aktuelle magazine was fired. In addition, the magazine also officially apologized to the family of the legendary former German racing driver.

Michael Schumacher has not been seen in public since December 2013, after he suffered a serious brain injury in a skiing accident. This was a serious event in Michael Schumacher's life and career.

Since Schumacher's health incident, the former racer's family has kept all information about his condition secret.

The fictional interview conducted entirely by artificial intelligence and published in Die Aktuelle magazine is an offensive move, deepening the pain of the Schumacher family and also providing no real positive value to readers. Schumacher's family has said they intend to take legal action against Die Aktuelle magazine.

A representative of the Funke media group - the owner of Die Aktuelle magazine - has officially spoken out about this incident: "This is a meaningless and misleading article, such an article should never have appeared. This article does not meet any journalistic standards that we and our readers expect to see from a media unit owned by Funke.

Due to the consequences of the publication of the controversial article, personnel changes have been made immediately. The editor-in-chief of Die Aktuelle , Anne Hoffmann, will step down from her duties as of this writing. Anne Hoffmann has held a number of important positions at the magazine since 2009."

The latest edition of Die Aktuelle features a photo of former racing driver Michael Schumacher smiling on the cover. The headline on the cover reads "Michael Schumacher, first interview". The small print adds: "It sounds deceptively honest".

The fictional interview inside the publication uses sentences written by artificial intelligence but is presented and performed as if it were a real interview with Schumacher.
