They build trust and become a driving force for people to work together to build a homeland that is innovative and integrated, but without losing its cultural roots and identity.
When responsibility overcomes prejudice
Although not yet 30 years old, Ms. Ksor Nuch has served as the Party Branch Secretary and Head of Dọch Ia Krót village, Ia Krái commune, Ia Grai district for over two years. She said: “When I was first elected as Party Branch Secretary, I was both happy and worried. At times I asked myself: ‘Can I handle this responsibility?’”
That question not only reflects Nuch's personal concerns but also the sentiments of many young officials when assuming leadership positions. To overcome these obstacles, Nuch chose to be close to the people and understand them. She went to each house, asked about each matter, patiently campaigned, and discussed every issue with the villagers. Gradually, those who had initially doubted her became her supporters.
Ms. Nuch said: “When I first took on the role, I was quite inexperienced, so I frequently sought out village elders and senior officials to learn from their experience. I would ask about anything unclear and try to find a way to solve problems I couldn't solve. I always thought that as an official, I had to be close to the people and understand them. Sometimes I would go from street to street, knocking on every door, listening to people talk about their fields, their children… only then could I understand what the villagers needed and thought, so that I could do things correctly. Only when the people trust me will the common good go smoothly.”

Under her leadership, the Party cell of Dọch Ia Krót village has leveraged its collective strength, with 19 Party members always working together to mobilize people to participate in movements for economic development, cultural preservation, and building a civilized life. In particular, the villagers have unanimously agreed to donate land for road construction, switch to suitable crops, and improve their quality of life. In 2021, Dọch Ia Krót village was recognized as achieving the new rural standard.
Faced with persistent social issues such as child marriage, consanguineous marriage, and domestic violence, Ms. Nuch collaborated with local authorities to organize numerous awareness campaigns aimed at improving public understanding, especially among young people.
Ms. Ksor H'Yeng (from Doch Ia Krot village) commented: "Ms. Nuch is very approachable and sincere. Following Ms. Nuch's advice, I always remind my children and grandchildren to focus on their studies and not get married early so they can build a better future."

Speaking about the challenges in her work, Ms. Nuch frankly shared: "I always strive to learn and improve my knowledge and skills. Being close to the people, listening to them, and setting an example in various movements are factors that help me gain people's trust."
Not only is she trusted by the people, but Ms. Nuch also has the honor of being one of the outstanding officials of the province selected by the 15th Army Corps to participate in a trip to visit President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum at the end of 2024. That special trip further strengthened her resolve and determination, helping her to steadfastly follow the Party's path, leading the villagers to overcome difficulties, innovate, and develop.
"Visiting President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum is a great honor. I feel my responsibility more clearly, and from that, I strive even harder to contribute to building a more developed and sustainable homeland," Ms. Nuch shared.
Helping villagers keep up with technology.
Also one of the outstanding young cadres, Ms. Dinh Thi Dach (Dak Giang 2 village, Dong commune, Kbang district) currently holds many important roles at the grassroots level: Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch, Head of the Village Front Committee, and representative of the Commune People's Council.
In 2018, at the age of 26, she graduated with a Bachelor of Law degree. This was a significant achievement for a Bahnar woman in a remote area. Upon being elected to the Commune People's Council and assigned to work in the village, Ms. Dach immediately began implementing the resolutions of the Party Committee and the Commune People's Council; at the same time, she actively encouraged people to change their mindset and way of doing things, gradually building a new rural area associated with digital transformation.
She is close to the people, understands them, and always grasps their opinions and suggestions in order to promptly report them to the Party committee and government, contributing to creating consensus and unity in implementation.
Whenever she disseminated information or mobilized the people, Ms. Đách chose a close, approachable method, avoiding lengthy explanations, commands, or impositions. Instead, she spoke gently in both Vietnamese and the Bahnar language. As a result, the villagers easily understood and trusted her, leading them to follow her lead. Thanks to her understanding of customs, psychology, and skillful persuasion techniques, Ms. Đách became a "bridge" between the Party and State's policies and the lives of the people.
Mr. Dinh Hluoc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Dong commune, commented: "Comrade Dinh Thi Dach is very dedicated, responsible, always close to the villagers, and is trusted by the people, having prestige in the community."

Not content with simply communicating policies, with her keen insight, she soon realized that if Bahnar women weren't helped access technology and if their village's products weren't brought to market, poverty and backwardness would persist. Driven by this concern, she pioneered classes to teach women how to use social media, shoot videos , take photos, and write sales posts. She went to each house, holding hands with each person, showing them how to use their phones, create Zalo and Facebook accounts, and so on.
In 2023, she spearheaded the establishment of the Voi Rung Cooperative – a model combining the preservation of indigenous knowledge and the development of the digital economy – with 12 members. The cooperative members produce distinctive products such as rice wine, dried bamboo shoots, brocade fabrics, bamboo baskets, forest honey, forest mushrooms, and ginseng, and then sell them on e-commerce platforms. Thanks to their high quality, some products have been successfully exported.
Under the dedicated leadership of Ms. Dach, many women in Dak Giang 2 village have not only found opportunities for economic development but also preserved their traditional cultural values. It is through these solid steps that the Bahnar community is becoming increasingly strong, confidently integrating with the changing times while maintaining its unique identity.
Ms. Dinh Thi Nghieng (Dak Giang 2 village) expressed: “With Ms. Dach's encouragement and guidance, we women have become much more confident. We do everything together; those who know teach those who don't. The women in the village love each other like family, contributing their efforts to create products, and everyone feels enthusiastic. Society is changing a lot now, and we must learn more to keep up, but it's important not to forget our roots, not to forget the culture of our Bahnar people.”
