The admirable life of the only Vietnamese beauty queen with a height of only 1m58

Miss Bui Bich Phuong (born in 1971) was crowned Miss Vietnam for the first time (at that time it was also known as Miss National Tien Phong Newspaper in 1988). At the time of her coronation, Bui Bich Phuong was only 1m58 tall, with measurements of 86-60-88cm.

Although not having the advantage of height, at that time Bui Bich Phuong was highly appreciated for her sweet, charming beauty, excellent academic background and outstanding communication and behavioral skills.

Bui Bich Phuong was born and raised in an intellectual family. Her father was the late artist Bui Duc Minh - a native of Hanoi. He was a talented person, loved art from a young age, and participated in two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism. Bui Bich Phuong's mother was Nguyen Thi Thuyet Hoa, a beautiful, virtuous student who was also born into a well-educated family.

When she was crowned Miss in 1988, Miss Bui Bich Phuong was a first-year student in the English department of the University. Few people knew that at that time, the beautiful student still worked hard every day as a translator for 500 VND/page, and then taught extra classes to earn money for tuition.

Being a studious person, Bui Bich Phuong did not enter showbiz but continued her education. In 1994, she received a scholarship to study abroad in Korea and earned a Master's degree at Seoul University (Korea).

In 2019, Bui Bich Phuong directly coordinated the activities of the Korean Higher and Postgraduate Education Fund in the Southeast Asia region. After graduating, she returned to Vietnam and worked as a foreign affairs officer at the Institute for State and Law Studies. Bui Bich Phuong also majored in National Economics and then International Economics.

The perfect marriage of Miss Vietnam 1988 - Bui Bich Phuong

Besides her impressive career, Bui Bich Phuong also has a happy and fulfilling married life with Dr. Vu Thieu Giang. She shared that her husband is the one who has always stood behind her, cheering her on and encouraging her to strive in her career. The two are the same age and got married at the age of 29 after a year of dating.

Currently, Bui Bich Phuong is happy with her husband and two children: Gia Hien (son born in 2001) and Phuong Anh (daughter born in 2004).

Miss Bui Bich Phuong once shared that family education is very important. Continuing the family tradition, continuing the tradition of solidarity, Miss Vietnam 1998 always teaches her children to listen, observe to learn by themselves, do everything by themselves, not to depend on others, to care and help others, to love work and appreciate the labor of others.

Not participating in artistic activities like many other beauty queens, Miss Bui Bich Phuong mainly focuses on work and spends a lot of time taking care of her family.

In 2013, she accepted to be a judge for the Miss Intelligence contest. This time around, Bui Bich Phuong received many compliments for her youthful beauty compared to her real age. Miss Bui Bich Phuong also rarely appears on television.

Sharing about her current beauty, Bui Bich Phuong once said: "Normally, when I go out, go to the market... I wear very light makeup, or even no makeup at all, so few people recognize me. I can "hide" myself partly because I'm not photogenic. I look different in photos, but in real life I'm also... different!
