On the afternoon of November 15, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) in coordination with the Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technical Creativity (VIFOTEC), the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Ministry of Science and Technology held the closing and awarding ceremony of the 21st National Youth and Children's Creativity Competition in 2025.

In his opening speech, Dr. Phan Xuan Dung, President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), President of the VIFOTEC Foundation, Head of the Competition Steering Committee, emphasized that this is an important event, a "big festival" for youth and children across the country, a place to honor creative ideas and persistent efforts of the young generation in research and application of science and technology.

2025, according to Dr. Phan Xuan Dung, is a year of special significance for the Vietnamese people, that is, in administrative management, the local government at 2 levels (province and commune) is in operation. Because it is the first year of the new organization, it also leads to some difficulties for some localities in organizing the Competition.
However, with the great efforts and responsibility of the Organizing Committee of the Contest in the localities, there were nearly 900 entries from 34 provinces and cities.
“That shows that the success of the Competition does not stop at the number of topics but also shows in the enthusiasm, initiative, passion for research, marking a journey with many memorable milestones in the journey of searching, encouraging and honoring the creativity of young people nationwide”, Chairman Phan Xuan Dung shared.

This year's contest attracted 847 entries from 34 provinces and cities. The contest continues to focus on 5 areas: (1) Learning materials; (2) Environmentally friendly products; (3) Technical solutions to respond to climate change, protect the environment and develop the economy ; (4) Computer software; (5) Household appliances and children's toys. The Contest Organizing Committee received 847 entries from 34 provinces and cities nationwide, notably Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Thap, Quang Ngai, Can Tho, Hai Phong, Dong Nai, Da Nang, Nghe An, Lam Dong, Dak Lak, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang.
At the closing ceremony, the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee awarded 105 prizes including 5 first prizes, 10 second prizes, 30 third prizes and 60 consolation prizes, with a total value of 715 million VND.

The Competition Steering Committee decided to award Certificates of Merit to 15 units and 15 individuals with outstanding achievements in promoting, disseminating and organizing the Competition in provinces and cities in 2025.
The National Innovation Competition for Youth and Children (the Competition) is organized by the Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technical Creativity (VIFOTEC) - a permanent agency since 2004.
The competition is not only a cradle to nurture talents for the country but also a common home to light up the passion for young creative talents of Vietnam.
After 21 times of organization, VIFOTEC Fund has received 11,857 entries and 1,848 excellent entries have been awarded.

1 - First Prize 1: Topic "Smart waste classification system using solar energy" by the author group: Doan Gia Thinh, Bui Bao Han Nguyen Thi Ngoc Mai Nguyen Thao Nhi Bui Ngoc Ha Phuong - Chu Van An Secondary School, Hai Phong City.
2 - 2nd First Prize: Topic "Earth stratigraphic model and introduction of UNESCO global geopark Non nuoc Cao Bang" by the group of authors Nguyen Bao Son, Ngoc Tang Hoang, Bui Tien Minh, Nong Minh Duy, Trinh Minh Tung - Cao Bang High School for the Gifted and Hop Giang Secondary School, Cao Bang province.
3 - 3rd First Prize: Topic "AI assistant supports exploring textbook content through the lens of curiosity (Copilot for Curiosity - Based Reframming of Textbook Content)" by the group of authors Tran Viet Cuong, Nguyen Khanh An, Nguyen Cong Phuc Lam, Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Phan Minh Chau - from high schools and middle schools in Hanoi.
4 - First Prize 4: Topic "Design and manufacture of semi-automatic durian shelling machine" by author group Pham Anh Thu, Dang Hoang Dung - Dong Du Secondary and High School, Dak Lak province.
5 - First Prize 5: Topic "Equipment for growing agricultural crops in ponds, lakes, rivers, and seas to provide food for island areas and contribute to ensuring food security in the future" by authors Le Ha My, Pham Nguyen Van Khanh, Le Minh Quang, Phan Minh Khoi, Luong Ngoc Bao Phuong from famous secondary and high schools in Hanoi.
