Set an example in everything
Returning to civilian life since 1999, veteran Dao Xuan Truc has continuously promoted the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, which is always setting an example in carrying out any assigned tasks. Since his retirement, he has continuously participated in local activities, holding the positions of: Head of residential group, Deputy Secretary of Party cell, Secretary of Party cell, Chairman of Bach Mai Ward Veterans Association. "What impressed me most and always kept in mind to learn from Uncle Ho is the exemplary spirit, always being close to the people, and doing everything for the legitimate interests of the people," Mr. Truc shared.
Stemming from that sense of responsibility, during the peak period of Covid-19 prevention and control, Mr. Truc was always present at the "hot" locations of the ward: Sometimes delivering relief goods, sometimes working at the quarantine area, then mobilizing families and benefactors to give gifts to households in the blockade area. In his role as Party Secretary of Residential Group No. 6, he directed and mobilized cadres, party members, and people to coordinate with functional forces to mobilize to renovate Bach Mai Street, install flag stands...
Always at the forefront of all work, when Bach Mai ward implemented the policy of socializing the installation of security cameras and "public fire stations", Mr. Truc mobilized nearly 20 million VND to install 12 cameras. With Mr. Truc's persuasion and advocacy, the people basically agreed and enthusiastically supported the camera installation site, supporting the internet and power source. Thanks to that, the installation of the camera system in the area was effectively implemented, not only preventing and fighting against all kinds of crimes but also helping people raise their awareness of law compliance, limiting violations.
Building a civilized urban ward
To practically celebrate the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2023) and implement the plan of the Ward People's Committee on building a civilized urban ward, Mr. Truc coordinated with the staff of the Ward Women's Union to advise the Party Committee and the Ward People's Committee to build a "blossoming street" in the period of 2023-2025 on Bach Mai Street.
Always studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, "practice goes hand in hand with words", Mr. Truc is the first to contribute labor and material, and at the same time mobilize people and veteran members to contribute nearly 8 million VND to buy 38 flower pots, plant thousands of flowers and trees. "Building a "blossoming street" is a meaningful work to propagate, mobilize, raise awareness, the core role of cadres, members and people in maintaining environmental hygiene, contributing to the implementation of civilized urban lifestyle in the area", Mr. Truc said.
Chairman of Bach Mai Ward People's Committee Nguyen Thuy Duong said that in the recent campaign to restore order on sidewalks and roads in the ward, veterans were the core force participating. Among them, it is impossible not to mention the role of Chairman of Bach Mai Ward Veterans Association Dao Xuan Truc. Mr. Truc also proactively advised the Party Committee and the Ward People's Committee on measures to solve difficult local issues such as tax collection, handling "hot spots"...
Typically, Mr. Truc proposed and advised the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the ward on plans and solutions to clear the vendors encroaching on the common walkway at Lane 392 Bach Mai. He and the ward veterans carried out "skillful mass mobilization" in mobilizing people to voluntarily clear the roofs, sell goods in the right places, and ensure public hygiene. This work was recognized by the Party Committee, the People's Committee of the ward, and the people of residential group No. 6 and created consensus among the people, especially the business households all strictly complied.
Chairman of the Hai Ba Trung District Veterans Association Hoang Minh Ban highly appreciated Mr. Truc's active activities; at the same time, he emphasized that, regardless of his position, he always excellently completed all assigned tasks. During more than 30 years of work, Mr. Truc received many noble awards from the Party and many Certificates of Merit from the City Police Director, the City Veterans Association, the District People's Committee, the Hai Ba Trung District Veterans Association, the Party Committee, and the People's Committee of Bach Mai Ward.
