Spreading the emulation movement "Exemplary Veterans" in Trieu Son

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Implementing the emulation movement "Exemplary Veterans", in recent years, cadres and members of the Veterans Association of Trieu Son district have always promoted the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, contributing their strength and intelligence to help each other reduce poverty, do good business and join hands to build their homeland. Thereby, continuing to affirm the role and positive contributions of Veterans for the common development of Trieu Son district.

The movement to donate land to expand roads was actively participated in by cadres and members of Van Son commune.

The Trieu Son District Veterans Association currently has 37 grassroots organizations with 13,129 members. Promoting the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers, cadres and members of the district's Veterans Association at all levels have always effectively implemented campaigns and emulation movements in the locality. The highlight is the movement of veterans helping each other to reduce poverty and do good business , which has been widely developed. In the past 5 years, 37/37 grassroots associations have proactively built association funds and supported poor members to borrow capital to invest in production and business development, with an amount of more than 11.2 billion VND.

Along with capital creation, the associations at all levels also coordinated with the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education of Trieu Son district to organize 12 training courses on agricultural production techniques for more than 2,500 members. With the help of the associations at all levels, in Trieu Son district, there are more and more CCB members who are good at business, with production models that bring high economic efficiency, such as: CCB of Xuan Tho commune with the Fish Farming Club; CCB of Trieu Thanh commune with the Honey Bee Farming Club; the model of the Bonsai and Shade Tree Growing Club of CCB of Hop Ly and Tho Dan communes... From the effective production models, it has contributed to improving the lives of CCB members. If in 2019, the rate of fairly rich and wealthy CCB members was only 48%, by the end of 2024 it had increased to 59.8%; The rate of poor war veteran households decreased from 2.41% (2019) to 0.32% (2024).

The exemplary spirit of war veterans is also reflected in many warm deeds of comradeship. In particular, the movement to mobilize members to contribute to the fund to build "War Veterans' Love" houses to eliminate leaky houses and temporary houses for families of members with difficult housing conditions, launched by the Executive Committee of the Provincial War Veterans Association, has been actively participated by officials and members in the district. In the past 5 years, the district war veteran associations at all levels have mobilized support to build 31 houses for families of members with difficult housing conditions, with a total amount of more than 900 million VND. The district war veteran association also regularly cares for the lives of its members and gives thousands of gifts to poor, near-poor members, members with serious illnesses, and families with meritorious services to the revolution.

Responding to the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", the district's Veterans Association at all levels has mobilized members' families to voluntarily donate more than 70,000m2 of land for roads; built 102km of "electric lighting for village roads"; contributed thousands of working days of environmental sanitation and supported more than 3 billion VND to build village cultural houses. At the same time, the district's Veterans Association at all levels has stepped up propaganda and mobilized members and people from all walks of life not to litter rivers, canals, ponds, and lakes; participated in irrigation in the dry season, annually dredged intra-field canals, and collected more than 25 tons of waste from canals.

To contribute to maintaining security and order, the district's War Veterans Associations have also proactively built 254 models of "Self-managed War Veterans Groups for Security and Order"; directly participating in managing,educating , reforming, and helping 8 offenders, including released prisoners, to detoxify drugs at home and in the community. The Trieu Son District War Veterans Association has also actively coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to effectively carry out the campaign "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas, build residential areas free of crime and social evils"; build residential areas with "5 no's", "5 yes families"...

Chairman of the Trieu Son District War Veterans Association, Ha Quang Hanh, said: The emulation movement "Exemplary War Veterans" has contributed to improving the quality and effectiveness of the association's activities at all levels. Through annual evaluation, 100% of the association's grassroots units have completed their tasks well; 96% of members have completed their tasks well. Of which, 27% of the association's grassroots units have completed their tasks excellently; 96% of members are exemplary. The effectiveness of the emulation movements has had a profound influence on all classes of people, and has been recognized and highly appreciated by the Party Committee, government, and people. This is an important condition for Trieu Son District War Veterans to continue to affirm its prestige and position in social life."
