The Doan Ket Commune Farmers' Association has 2,811 members, operating in 31 branches. The Association regularly accompanies members in economic development by coordinating training courses to transfer techniques such as plant care and pest control; pruning and canopy shaping; using organic fertilizers; treating livestock waste as fertilizer; fish care and disease prevention; sales skills on digital platforms...

Mr. Mui Van Su, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Doan Ket Commune, said: The Association has identified the core task of supporting farmers to innovate their thinking and working methods. The Association has created conditions for members to borrow preferential loans, participate in training, and access production science and technology. The movement "Farmers compete in production, good business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably" has been promoted, helping farmers build and replicate effective economic models, put into production high-value plant varieties, and specialize in association with cooperative development.

One of the major "bottlenecks" of farmers is lack of capital. Understanding this reality, the Commune Farmers' Association proactively helps members access preferential loans. The Association has received over 66 billion VND from the Social Policy Bank and the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development through 24 savings and loan groups, supporting over 900 members in economic development; at the same time, implementing 4 projects on planting and caring for fruit trees with 40 households borrowing from the Farmers' Support Fund. Thanks to that, many effective models have been formed such as: raising sturgeon in Nong Cut village, raising frogs in Ta Lai village, growing tomatoes in greenhouses in Doan Ket village, growing fruit trees in sub-zone 3, Na Muong and Thong Nhat villages, and raising fish in cages in Na Quyen village.

Visiting the fruit tree growing model of Mr. Pham Ngoc Chien, sub-area 3, we were impressed with the fruit-laden garden in the harvest season. Mr. Chien shared: Realizing that the land and climate are suitable for fruit trees, I borrowed more than 200 million VND from the People's Credit Fund of Moc Chau Farm to invest in organic fruit tree planting, installing a drip irrigation system. Thanks to that, the trees grow well, bringing high efficiency. Currently, my family has more than 2 hectares of oranges, green-skinned grapefruit, Vinh oranges, custard apples, and longans, with an output of about 60 tons, earning nearly 1 billion VND/year.

The family of Mr. Ha Van Thu, Na Quyen village, is one of the large cage fish farming households in Quy Huong, with an increasingly prosperous life. Mr. Thu said: Starting to raise fish in cages since 2016, now the family has 30 sturdy iron frame cages, raising catfish, grass carp, tilapia... Thanks to clean water, available food from corn, cassava and technical guidance from the Commune Farmers' Association, the fish grow well, have few diseases, and delicious meat. Each year, the family sells more than 10 tons of commercial fish, earning a profit of over 200 million VND.

Thanks to the orientation and support of local authorities and the initiative of farmers, the commune now has more than 9,700 hectares of agricultural land, with grain output of over 41,800 tons; more than 2,100 hectares of fruit trees; 293 hectares of biomass corn for dairy farming; the average production value is 55.5 million VND/ha. Livestock farming has developed with 11,100 cattle, more than 132,400 poultry, nearly 40 hectares of ponds and lakes and 145 fish cages maintained.
