In recent times, the city has had outstanding results in science, technology and innovation and has made clear contributions to socio-economic development.

According to the results of the 2024 Local Innovation Index, Da Nang ranked 5th in the country according to the ranking announced by the Ministry of Science and Technology . For four consecutive years, Da Nang has been honored and awarded the Attractive City for Innovative Startups Award by the Vietnam Software and Information Technology Services Association.

According to the ranking of the StartupBlink Center for Research and Mapping the Global Startup Ecosystem, in 2024, Da Nang was included for the first time in the list of the top 1,000 cities globally in terms of startup ecosystem. In 2025, Da Nang rose 130 places, reaching 766th place globally.

Da Nang leads the country for 14 consecutive years in the Vietnam ICT Index among provinces and cities; Ranked first in provincial digital transformation for the third consecutive year by DTI.

From 2024, the City will begin to deploy the fields of semiconductor microchips and artificial intelligence, marking a strong transformation, leading the world's new technology trends.

As a major economic, cultural, scientific-technological and training center of the Central region, Da Nang is facing the need to build and develop a high-quality human resource team.

In that context, developing high-quality human resources, science, technology and innovation is no longer an option, but an urgent task, a fundamental driving force for the city to develop rapidly and sustainably.

The Organizing Committee received 29 presentations from Professors, Associate Professors, experts, and scientists. At the seminar, many solutions and suggestions were discussed such as: Expanding new training professions associated with strategic orientations: microchips, Fintech, AI, logistics, marine technology, etc.; actively building science and technology forces in each field; closely and effectively coordinating between training institutions and localities and using units, etc.

At the same time, scientists also have some opinions on: Da Nang needs to further promote the advantages and potential of a "university city"; build a systematic strategy for training high-quality human resources for industries and fields that the city needs to invest in; The city needs to prioritize investment (or call for socialization) to build a number of shared laboratories/research centers in fields that the city is in need of...

Today's discussion is also one of the city's activities to concretize the effective implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo.

This is also an opportunity for city leaders to meet, acknowledge and honor the important roles and contributions of experts, scientists and intellectuals in the process of building and developing the city.
