Da Nang kicks off Football Festival “The Red Dream”

This will be a special cultural and sporting event promoting tourism and sports connections between Vietnam and the UK. In particular, in addition to high-quality football matches, the Festival also has many artistic performances, famous players of the golden generation of Manchester United club interacting with the audience... and recreating the vibrant atmosphere of a unique football festival in Vietnam.

With the approval of the People's Committee of Da Nang City and the support of the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Vietnam, from June 26 to 29, 2025, America & Asia Linkage Company Limited (AAC) will coordinate with the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Culture , Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City to organize Season 2 of the Vietnam - UK Football Festival with the theme "Legendary Red - The Red Dream".

The event is expected to become a bridge for cultural and sports exchange between the two countries, contributing to promoting the image of Vietnam, especially Da Nang City, a dynamic and integrated destination with great potential in developing international sports tourism .

According to the Organizing Committee, following the success of the Vietnam - Brazil Football Festival in 2024, this year's program will welcome the participation of famous players from the golden generation of the famous Manchester United club such as Michael Owen, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Teddy Sheringham, Wes Brown and many other former players.

The highlight of the festival is the friendly football match between the Vietnamese star team and Manchester Reds, taking place at Hoa Xuan Stadium (capacity 17,000 seats). In addition to the professional elements, the match also incorporates many artistic performances and audience interactions, creating a vibrant, friendly, and culturally rich sports festival atmosphere.

In addition, the series of activities within the program include: The Red Dream Fan Fest - a festival for Manchester United fans; Pickleball exchange; charity program at V-Village Da Nang; and many other tourism - sports promotion activities, aiming to develop community sports and strengthen the connection between people and people-to-people diplomacy activities.

In order to discover and nurture young football talents, and at the same time promote the spirit of healthy sportsmanship, the 2nd GrassLife Da Nang International Youth Football Tournament will also be held on this occasion. The tournament is scheduled to take place at Tuyen Son Sports Village from June 27 to 28, 2025, gathering more than 30 football teams from U10 to U16 from home and abroad.

The Vietnam – UK Football Festival 2025 is not only a major sporting and cultural event, but also a message affirming the position, image of hospitality, peace and development of Da Nang City and Vietnam in the international arena.
