
This year, the Organizing Committee received more than 200 press works in the genres of print and electronic newspapers; radio and television from reporters, journalists, and members of the Journalists Association who are working and living at press agencies and Journalists Associations in the South Central region. Most of the works reflect on socio-economic activities; good, creative, and breakthrough ways to innovate and develop localities; refute the wrong viewpoints and arguments of hostile forces, protect the Party's ideological foundation, protect the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland; good people and good deeds...
In the print media genre, many works are of quite good quality, closely following many current and practical issues in the locality, especially the topic of marine economy - which is the strength of economic development in the South Central Coast region. Many works are carefully written, well argued, and convincing with specific evidence. Some electronic newspaper works have unique discoveries, expressing their own perspectives with the mark of digital transformation in press agencies and the working process of journalists. Some documentaries celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification with many memories of the sacrifices of generations of fathers and brothers...

Of the 90 excellent works selected by the Final Round Council, 22 were awarded prizes, including 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 6 third prizes and 10 consolation prizes. Accordingly, the first prize in the print and electronic newspaper category went to the 4-part series “Emulation Innovation in the Party” by the group of authors Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuan, Le Ba Son, Le Ngoc Duc, Trinh Hien Thu – Quang Ngai Newspaper; the first prize in the radio and television category was awarded to the documentary “Comrades’ Area” by the group of authors Ho Nhat Thao, Huynh Thanh Huyen, Tran Vu Linh, Tran Tran Quy – Phu Yen Radio and Television Station.
Author Huu Toan, a reporter for CAND Newspaper based in the South Central region, was awarded the encouragement prize in the print-electronic newspaper category for a three-part series: "Ensuring security and order stability, socio-economic development in the West of Phu Yen".
Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Tran Trong Dung, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Head of the Steering Committee of the 2nd South Central Journalism Awards, emphasized the dedication of the team of journalists who are not afraid of hardships, overcoming steep passes, wading streams, and trekking through forests to bring back authentic stories that touch people's hearts. These are stories about life, people, the fight to protect forests, activities to preserve national culture, and the examples and efforts of ethnic minorities to overcome difficulties and rise up. The 2nd South Central Journalism Awards not only recognize the achievements of outstanding works, but also express deep gratitude to those who have, are, and will continue to accompany the development of the South Central region with their pens, passion, and social responsibility as journalists.
On this occasion, Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper awarded 25 scholarships to support poor students in Ninh Thuan province, and the Vietnam Traffic Safety Association awarded 120 helmets to journalists who won the 2nd South Central Journalism Award in 2025.
