Cause of fire at Danang Hospital has been found

Accordingly, at 8:40 p.m. on October 16, a fire broke out at Hoan My Da Nang Hospital on the top floor of Area C. This is a 12-story building, the tallest of the hospital, which came into operation in September 2018.

The initial cause was determined to be an electrical short circuit on the building's exterior sign. No patients were affected and the hospital continued to operate normally.

The building where the fire broke out has 45 functional rooms, 42 examination rooms and 8 VIP examination rooms. At the time of the fire, the building was occupied by many relatives, patients and doctors.

According to the family members and patients last night, when the fire alarm rang, a burning smell spread throughout the upper floor wards. Everyone shouted and ran out of the hospital, no one had time to take any belongings with them.

Some people in the hospital room did not yet discover the fire so they remained in the room until the fire was put out.

Danang Hospital informed the fire department. Upon receiving the information, the Danang City Police Department of Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue dispatched officers and soldiers along with 5 fire trucks and rescue ladder trucks to the scene.

Firefighters coordinated with the hospital medical team to approach the fire. By 9:20 p.m., the fire was under control.

At the time of the fire, the hospital was undergoing some construction work. A hospital representative added: "Currently, the hospital is in the process of upgrading its infrastructure to expand and improve the quality of health care and medical services for Da Nang City."
