Dong Van is the core district of the Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark with many famous relics, heritages, and scenic spots, an indispensable destination for tourists coming to Ha Giang. This place is also known for its unique and distinctive cultural features of ethnic communities, including the H'Mong ethnic group.
For the H'Mong people, the Khen has an extremely important position, not only as a musical instrument but also as a symbol, a unique cultural feature and tradition. The Khen dance art of the H'Mong people has been recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage.

The Khen has high artistic value from the stages of making, preserving and using. That further affirms the cultural and artistic value of the Khen in the daily life of the H'Mong ethnic community.
The Mong flute festival is an opportunity to connect the community, promote and introduce the image of the homeland, people and unique culture of Dong Van district. It is a bridge for people, actors and artisans to exchange, learn, strengthen solidarity and help collect and restore folk songs and dances.

Activities within the framework of this year's festival take place from April 24 to 25. In addition to the dances and flute sounds of the H'Mong ethnic group, there are also many art performances imbued with the culture of other ethnic communities currently living in the district such as: Lo Lo, Pu Peo, Tay, Giay, Dao.

In addition, there are street parade art performances. Each parade model carries a symbol, a separate message, representing the characteristics, solidarity, and connection between ethnic groups and honoring cultural values and heritages.
