President Luong Cuong lays a wreath in commemoration of President Kaysone Phomvihane.

According to the VNA special correspondent, on the morning of April 25, within the framework of the State visit to Laos, President Luong Cuong and the high-level Vietnamese delegation laid wreaths in remembrance of President Kaysone Phomvihane and visited the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum in the capital Vientiane.

To show his respect and admiration, President Luong Cuong laid a wreath before the statue of President Kaysone Phomvihane, expressing the appreciation and remembrance of the Party, State, and people of Vietnam for the leader who made immense contributions to laying the foundation, preserving, and developing the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos, which has become a precious asset of the two nations.

After a minute of silence, President Luong Cuong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation visited the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum and listened to a presentation about the life and revolutionary career of President Kaysone Phomvihane, the outstanding and beloved leader of the Lao people, a great and extremely close friend of the Vietnamese people; as well as about the close cooperation and strong bond between the Lao and Vietnamese revolutions…

President Kaysone Phomvihane, along with President Ho Chi Minh and President Souphanouvong, laid the foundation for the special, steadfast, and pure relationship between Vietnam and Laos, which has been diligently nurtured by successive generations of leaders of both countries and has become an invaluable asset of the two nations. The close bond between Vietnam and Laos has overcome all the challenges of time, becoming a great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation—a vivid testament to the spirit of proletarian internationalism and the aspirations for independence and freedom of both nations.

In his guestbook after the visit, President Luong Cuong expressed his honor and emotion at visiting the museum, which preserves memories of the revolutionary activities of Comrade Kaysone Phomvihane, a close friend of the Vietnamese people.

“I am truly moved and impressed by the precious historical heritage preserved by the Party, State, and people of Laos. The museum is not only a place to display important artifacts but also a symbol of the great friendship between the people of Vietnam and Laos. Comrade Kaysone was an outstanding leader of the Lao revolution, who dedicated his entire life to the cause of national liberation. The stories, images, and artifacts here have been deeply etched in my mind, reminding me of the solidarity and determination of both nations in the struggle for national liberation as well as in building and defending the Fatherland,” the President wrote.

On this occasion, the President expressed his wish that the staff and employees of the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum would unite and work together to preserve, protect, and develop the museum not only as a cultural site for the Lao people but also as a place to educate the younger generation and the people about the rare and unique loyal relationship between Vietnam and Laos, thereby contributing to strengthening and nurturing the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, and Laos and Vietnam, so that it continues to develop and bear fruit.

* Earlier that morning, President Luong Cuong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation laid wreaths at the Monument to the Heroes and Martyrs of Laos in Vientiane to commemorate and express gratitude for the contributions and indomitable fighting spirit of the outstanding sons and daughters of the Lao people who fell in the cause of liberating, protecting, and building the country of Laos.
