Bosnia and Herzegovina highly appreciates Vietnam's dynamic development achievements and its increasingly prominent position in the region and the world , and always values ​​and wishes to further promote friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam.

This was the statement made by the Chairman of the Presidential Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željko Komšić, when receiving Vietnamese Ambassador Bui Le Thai during the ceremony of presenting his credentials, which took place on December 12 in Sarajevo.

In a cordial atmosphere, the Chairman of the Presidential Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina congratulated Ambassador Bui Le Thai; and extended greetings, regards, and best wishes to President Luong Cuong and other key leaders of Vietnam.

Mr. Komšić emphasized that he will continue to cooperate closely with Vietnam in multilateral forums, especially within the framework of the United Nations, and support cooperation proposals that are beneficial to both sides; he also expressed confidence in the prospects for cooperation between the two countries, especially in the context of Vietnam and Bosnia & Herzegovina preparing to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1996-2026).

The leader of Bosnia and Herzegovina wished Ambassador Bui Le Thai a successful term of office, contributing to the further development of bilateral relations in all fields. He also affirmed that he would direct relevant agencies of Bosnia and Herzegovina to cooperate closely with the Vietnamese Embassy and to study the early signing of bilateral cooperation agreements to create a solid legal framework for relations between the two countries.

For his part, Ambassador Bui Le Thai respectfully conveyed the greetings and best wishes for health and success from General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and other key leaders of the Vietnamese Party and State to the President of the Presidential Council and the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Thai Ambassador expressed his honor at being appointed as the Vietnamese Ambassador to a country with an important position in the Balkan region and affirmed that he would make every effort to contribute to strengthening and developing the comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in a more substantial and effective manner in the future.

Ambassador Bui Le Thai congratulated Bosnia & Herzegovina on its achievements in development and international integration, especially the EU's agreement to launch accession negotiations for Bosnia & Herzegovina, and expressed hope that this Southern European country would soon become a full member of the EU.

Ambassador Bui Le Thai affirmed that Vietnam always values ​​the traditional friendship with Bosnia & Herzegovina and wishes to further promote cooperation between the two countries; suggested that the two countries should further strengthen exchanges of delegations at all levels, especially high-level delegations, to enhance political trust and mutual understanding; proposed that the two sides coordinate closely to soon organize political consultations at the Deputy Foreign Minister level; and agreed with the proposal of the President of the Presidential Council to consider the possibility of negotiating and signing a number of bilateral agreements to create a solid legal basis for relations between the two countries, strengthening cooperation in economics, trade, investment, culture, education, sports, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.

Ambassador Bui Le Thai also suggested that the two countries strengthen coordination and mutual support in multilateral forums, especially the United Nations.
