According to experts, in the context of the ongoing digital transformation and sustainable development globally, smart cities are not just a trend, but an essential requirement for modern urban areas.
The papers presented at the workshop focused on strategic directions for renewable energy in smart cities, geographical initiatives, and environmental safety in Da Nang .
Within the framework of the conference, the organizing committee launched the Smartcampus competition with the participation of students from member universities of Da Nang University; and organized in-depth training sessions on semiconductor microchips and IoT (Internet of Things) led by experts and lecturers from French universities.

Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Ho Quang Buu said that Da Nang is one of the leading localities in the country in building a smart city in the main pillars of digital government, digital economy and digital society.
The online public service system is becoming increasingly sophisticated; shared data platforms, integration hubs, and open data warehouses are being developed synchronously; many fields such as healthcare, education , smart cities, and transportation have been and are strongly applying new technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud computing.

However, to meet the demands of this new phase of development, the city needs close cooperation with technology partners and domestic and international organizations to implement advanced technological solutions from around the world.

The workshop provides an opportunity for the city to receive in-depth scientific and technological advice from international experts, notably scholars from French universities; to promote multi-faceted dialogue, connect initiatives, research projects, startups, and technology transfer, aiming for sustainable development for Da Nang city.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan, Vice Director of Da Nang University, Da Nang University wishes to strengthen cooperation with domestic and international partners in its areas of strength such as: semiconductor chips, energy - materials, electrical - electronics, precision mechanics, information technology and artificial intelligence, financial technology, biotechnology, healthcare, especially solutions serving the construction of smart cities.
The ISSCEI 2025 conference opens up many opportunities for concrete, effective, and sustainable cooperation between the University of Da Nang and its partners.
