The University of Da Nang's resolute spirit of international integration has been strongly disseminated through conferences implementing breakthrough solutions for international publication in scientific research and promoting student exchange, creating a synchronized effect throughout the entire system.

Enhance English-language teaching programs.

One of the key focuses that the University of Da Nang is promoting and coordinating with its member universities and affiliated training units is the development of English-language training programs to prepare students for working in an international environment.

According to a representative from the University of Economics - Da Nang University, the university offers three full-time programs in English (International Trade, Digital Marketing, E-commerce) and 18 specialized programs taught partly in English, such as: Financial Technology, Hotel Management, Human Resource Management, Tourism Business Management, etc.

The curriculum is developed and updated with advanced knowledge, ensuring compliance with the National Curriculum Framework, and includes participation from international lecturers and lecturers who have trained abroad. Transfer programs (3+1, 2+2) and student/internship exchanges with universities and businesses worldwide provide additional opportunities for students to improve their foreign language skills.

"This direction is very timely because it not only contributes to the implementation of Resolutions No. 71 and No. 59 of the Politburo but also meets the need for high-quality human resources, ready to serve the projects that Da Nang city is promoting to form an International Finance Center and a Free Trade Zone," said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Dat - Deputy Head of the Training and Quality Assurance Board of Da Nang University.

Promoting integration and enhancing international prestige.

The University of Da Nang has just been selected by the Central Steering Committee on Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation as "one of four universities for key investment to serve as a model for the Vietnamese higher education system" (Conclusion Announcement No. 45-TB/TGV), which includes the goal of "ensuring that at least 60% of training programs in science, engineering, and technology fields are taught in English... prioritizing joint degree programs with universities in the Top 200 worldwide".

To achieve its major goals and objectives, the University of Da Nang proactively strengthens cooperation with top 200 universities worldwide, such as the National University of Singapore, the University of Sydney, the University of Macau, and Indiana University, to establish joint degree programs; exchange lecturers and students in both directions; co-supervise doctoral and master's students; and organize international scientific conferences to develop its research and academic network.

Recently, Da Nang University has strengthened its cooperation with the Ulysseus European University Alliance, the University of Grenoble, and the University of Côte d'Azur (France), focusing on strategic areas such as: Digital technology; AI; Robotics and automation; Smart cities; Advanced networks and communication technologies; Nuclear energy, renewable energy, green energy, new materials; Biotechnology and biomedical technology… In the future, Da Nang University will introduce engineering students and doctoral candidates to pursue their dissertations at the University of Grenoble.

The Vietnam-UK Institute for Research and Training (VNUK), University of Da Nang, is collaborating with Nottingham Trent University (UK) to implement a joint Master's program in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL). Through this program, students, primarily English teachers, are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills. They complete internships, write their graduation theses at the partner university, and receive a degree from Nottingham Trent University.

"As the core institution implementing the Project 'Making English the Second Language in Schools' (Decision No. 2371/QD-TTg), the University of Foreign Languages ​​- Da Nang University focuses on improving the qualifications of its core teaching staff, combined with strengthening infrastructure, equipment, and applying technology in foreign language teaching and learning. This is the decisive factor in the quality of English language training in the education system," shared Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Long - Rector of the University of Foreign Languages ​​- Da Nang University.

With steady, dynamic steps and fundamental solutions, the University of Da Nang maximizes its potential, traditions, and experience in international integration with foreign languages ​​as the "key," continuously enhancing its prestige and position in the process of internationalizing higher education.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - Director of Da Nang University, the strategic direction for promoting international cooperation of the university is to expand the exchange of lecturers and students; increase the internationalization level of training programs and international training partnerships (joint degree programs, transfer programs); encourage accredited training programs that meet international standards and select and combine the use and reference of curricula from prestigious foreign universities; and strengthen foreign language skills for staff, lecturers and especially students to integrate with the international labor market, aiming to become "global citizens".
