Every Friday, the "Men's Pioneer Club for Preventing and Responding to Violence Against Women and Children" in Dien Bien Phu ward meets with the full and enthusiastic participation of its members. Here, members engage in group discussions, analyze real-life family situations, practice conflict resolution skills, and learn how to support victims. Thanks to open conversations and a friendly approach, each member proactively shares experiences, raises awareness, and spreads messages of respect and equality, contributing to building a safe, violence-free environment.
Mr. Luong Van Thuong, a member of the "Pioneering Men in Preventing and Responding to Violence Against Women and Children" Club in Dien Bien Phu ward, said: "Previously, I had participated in several competitions on gender equality and the prevention and control of domestic violence organized by the province, so I have accumulated basic knowledge about the rights, obligations, and roles of men in the family. With that knowledge, today I am sharing it with the members to better understand the responsibilities of men in building a safe, respectful, and equal family environment. I believe that when each man changes his mindset, behaves appropriately, and knows how to share with his wife and children, it will create a solid foundation for family happiness."

Dien Bien province currently has 5 clubs called "Men Pioneering in Preventing and Responding to Violence Against Women and Children" and over 240 "Happy Family" clubs with more than 8,000 members. Each club acts as a "shield" against the risks of domestic violence and is a crucial nucleus for promoting gender equality at the grassroots level. In addition, Dien Bien province is seriously implementing the National Strategy on Gender Equality. From 2021 to the present, various levels and sectors have coordinated to organize more than 100 training courses on gender equality, attracting over 5,800 participants.
To implement the Month of Action for Gender Equality and Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence (November 15 - December 15) and the "Orange Campaign 2025," the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has established check-in points at schools. With a focus on the bright orange color, this form of communication has created an environment for students to proactively engage, raise awareness, and develop positive behaviors in their daily interactions.
Mr. Tran Hai Ha, Acting Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: This is the first year the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has implemented gender equality awareness campaigns using a completely new approach, focusing directly on students. The communication methods have also been modernized to be more youthful and suitable for the psychology of young people. Besides traditional methods such as banners and slogans, the Department has proactively developed check-in clusters with images and messages that are relatable, lively, and easily connect with students and parents.
Thanks to this innovative approach, the awareness campaign has attracted widespread attention and support from a large number of students at educational institutions.

Gender equality awareness campaigns have brought about significant changes in community awareness, laying the foundation for practical actions.
Mr. Quang Van Huong, from Na Hai village, Sam Mun commune, shared: “To build a happy family, I often teach my children and help my wife at home. I feel that when we help each other, the family is happier, more harmonious, and the children are closer to their parents.”
When actions spread widely throughout the community, women have more opportunities to assert themselves, develop their abilities, and make positive contributions to the development of society. Dien Bien province currently has 300 female directors and entrepreneurs; over 40 female cooperative directors and thousands of successful businesswomen. In any position, they demonstrate exemplary spirit, daring to think and act, and constantly striving to improve, continuing to prove the leadership, management, and resilience of Dien Bien women in the new era.

Ms. Pờ Diệu Ninh, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and Vice Chairwoman in charge of the Provincial Women's Union, stated: “Gender equality is a central and continuous task in all of the Union's activities. In the past, especially in 2025, the Provincial Women's Union has implemented many comprehensive solutions to promote gender equality in all fields. As a result, the gender gap has gradually narrowed; female members have more opportunities to affirm their position in the family and participate more effectively in various aspects of social life.”
Despite numerous challenges, with the coordinated efforts of all levels and sectors, along with positive changes from each family, gender equality in Dien Bien is gradually becoming a respected value and is practiced in daily life. This is a crucial foundation for building a civilized and safe community where all members have the opportunity to develop and contribute to the overall progress of society.
