Lam Dong province facilitates capital flow for the agricultural sector.

Agriculture, farmers, and rural areas (the "three rural sectors") are crucial areas in building new rural areas in particular and socio-economic development in general. Currently, many credit institutions in Lam Dong province are focusing on facilitating capital flows to promote this sector.

Many farmers have quick access to capital.

Recently, Mr. Nguyen Nhan Trung's family in Quang Son commune approached the Investment and Development Bank of Vietnam (BIDV) in Dak Nong to borrow capital for investing in their coffee plantation. After submitting their proposal, a bank credit officer contacted him directly.

The bank's review, application, and appraisal process was very quick. In less than two days, Mr. Trung was able to borrow 200 million VND to meet his needs. With the capital, Mr. Trung promptly invested in fertilizers and an irrigation system for his orchard.

"Compared to before, I find the loan application process at the bank much more convenient. Borrowers like us just need to express our needs and make a request, and the loan officer will proactively contact us. If everything goes smoothly, the funds are disbursed within a few days," Mr. Trung shared.

Similarly, thanks to the quick and convenient loan application process, Mr. Dau Van Phuong's family in Truong Xuan commune easily borrowed 250 million VND to invest in expanding their livestock farming. According to Mr. Phuong, Lam Dong currently has many credit institutions. The loan application process is more convenient for people, especially farmers with well-invested livestock systems and well-developed orchards and gardens, who can easily access capital for production.

“For a long time now, credit officers have regularly come down to the communes to introduce loan packages. People who want to borrow capital just need to contact the credit officer to complete the application. The loan application process is now simple and quick. Interest rates vary among credit institutions, so people have more options,” Mr. Phuong affirmed.

As one of the pioneering lending institutions in this sector, the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (Agribank) Lam Dong has continuously prioritized lending to agriculture and rural areas. To date, out of a total outstanding loan balance of over 24,000 billion VND, loans to agriculture and rural areas at the bank account for more than 77% of the total outstanding loan balance.

According to a representative from Agribank Lam Dong, the provincial headquarters annually allocates loan balance targets for corporate clients to its subordinate units. Based on this, the directors of the subordinate units are required to assign specific corporate loan balance targets to each credit officer.

The Branch Management Board regularly directs the proactive search for and attraction of customers, especially corporate clients, at monthly briefing meetings. The Branch also continuously strives to acquire new customers and boost its credit card services, launching many new products and expanding its distribution channels.

Many customer care and incentive programs have also received significant investment, focusing on enhancing technology application, improving services, and expanding the network to meet the increasingly high demands of customers during transactions.

Lending to the agricultural sector is one of the areas prioritized by credit institutions in Lam Dong province. This capital is concentrated on production and business activities of individuals, cooperatives, and small and medium-sized enterprises.

According to the State Bank of Vietnam, Regional Branch X, in 2025, many banks in Lam Dong province simultaneously adjusted down deposit interest rates, contributing to lowering lending interest rates and supporting economic recovery and development. Many credit institutions reduced interest rates to help people, cooperatives, and businesses easily access credit capital to develop production and business.

Simplifying loan procedures has facilitated people's timely access to capital. When demand increases, disbursement is quick, contributing to the growth of outstanding loans at credit institutions.

By the end of November 2025, the total outstanding loan balance for the entire economy in Lam Dong province was 368,000 billion VND, an increase of 8.4% compared to the beginning of the year. Loans to the agricultural and rural sectors alone accounted for over 75%. Credit institutions are stepping up customer service efforts. Banks are focusing on compiling statistics, monitoring the situation, and investing credit capital in key industrial crops such as coffee, pepper, and rubber.
