Nearly 450 delegates will attend the International Conference of Francophone Mayors held in Hue.

The 45th International Conference of Francophone Mayors (AIMF) held in Hue City will focus specifically on issues related to heritage conservation and promoting sustainable tourism.

The 45th AIMF Conference will be held in Hue City from April 27 to 30, 2025. The event will be attended by nearly 450 mayors, officials and representatives of French-speaking cities around the world to promote dialogue, international solidarity and jointly address challenges related to heritage and sustainable tourism; at the same time, promote a common commitment to climate change prevention and adaptation.

According to the AIMF Organizing Committee, Hue is particularly active in the Francophone Mayors Network on issues of culture, heritage and sustainable development. AIMF has also supported the city with many programs related to these contents. Hue City is also developing many bilateral cooperation projects with French-speaking cities, focusing strongly on heritage conservation issues. The 45th Conference of Francophone Mayors in Hue will be an opportunity to learn more about cooperation and establish new partnerships.

In addition, the meeting in Hue will also contribute to maintaining exchanges and cooperation between AIMF member cities in the ASEAN region, which have been enhanced in recent years on the topic of digital technology and promoting heritage values.

Climate issues will be at the heart of this conference. Mayors will focus in particular on issues related to heritage conservation and promoting sustainable tourism. An international conference on these issues will allow Mayors and experts to share experiences and visions. This is also an important contribution to Hue, the host city of the National Tourism Year 2025.

This meeting in Hue is also a time to celebrate the International Association of Francophone Mayors, which in 2025 will celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Association, the 35th anniversary of the Cooperation Fund and the 30th anniversary of becoming the Coordinating Body of the Francophone Community.

Founded on the initiative of the Mayors of Paris and Québec, over the past 45 years, AIMF has established itself as an essential space for exchange and cooperation among French-speaking Mayors worldwide, and as an important partner in the development of cities through supporting projects. Many Mayors will be present in Hue during this Congress to learn from each other, follow decentralized cooperation programs and the growth of the Association.
