Highlights of the opening ceremony of Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023

The program was held on the banks of the poetic Huong River with a creatively designed stage, innovative and contemporary based on traditional materials of the ancient capital.

Following the success of the 8th edition, on the evening of April 28, the People's Committee of Hue City, Thua Thien - Hue Province solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023 with the theme "Quintessence of Vietnamese Crafts". This is a major event for Hue City and Thua Thien Hue Province to preserve and promote the value of traditional crafts, enhance promotion, stimulate tourism , and enhance the image and position of the locality.

The opening night of the Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023 truly brought to the people and visitors an emotional and artistic feast of sound, light and bustling dances. The program was held on the banks of the poetic Huong River with a creatively designed stage, innovative and contemporary on the traditional materials of the ancient capital.

The theme of the Quintessence of Vietnamese Crafts is clearly and artistically expressed through special performances on stage through the combination of music , dance and visual effects expressing a new Hue spirit: New, creative but still preserving precious traditional values.

This year is also the first year that the Traditional Craft Festival has the participation of art troupes and craft villages from some regions of Japan, Korea... which are twinned localities of Hue city.

After the opening night, the Festival will continue to be held along the two banks of the Perfume River and many other areas in the city, gathering the participation of 69 craft villages and craft establishments - representing the quintessence of Vietnamese crafts with over 350 artisans, "golden hands".

The event will last until May 5, 2023, and all programs will be completely free for residents and visitors./.
