Canada is known as the land of red maple trees. This tree not only brings beauty and romance to the North American country, the sap flowing through the tree trunk also gives the indigenous people delicious, world -famous maple syrup.

Canadians harvest maple sap in late spring, when the sap is at its highest quality. After harvesting, the sap is processed and extracted into syrup. Maple syrup appears a lot in Canadian cuisine , such as using it as a spread on toast, pancakes, or with cereals, oatmeal... The mild sweetness of the syrup makes cakes easier to eat. Canadians also use maple syrup as the main ingredient to make cakes, butter, candy, sugar, cereals...

Similarly, Canadian bacon is also a must-try when visiting this country. The dish is made from pork loin soaked in brine and rolled in cornmeal. To enhance the flavor, diners should eat it with other dishes such as bread or vegetables.

Quality ingredients and food from Canada

Maple syrup or bacon are examples of the uniqueness of Canadian ingredients and cuisine. With a diverse source of ingredients, on the afternoon of May 11, the Canadian Government launched the campaign "Canada, Fish Is Good", aiming to help Vietnamese consumers access quality food, high safety standards, and reasonable prices. From 2023, the Canadian Government will also promote food through e-commerce platforms, aiming to increase the recognition of food from the "red maple leaf" country in Vietnam. In the future, culinary ingredients from the country about 13,000 km away from Vietnam will be closer to consumers, increasing the inherent diversity of Vietnamese cuisine.
