On the afternoon of July 22, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry announced the threshold to ensure the quality of admission (floor score) for full-time university admission in 2025 based on the 2025 high school graduation exam score and the rules for converting equivalent admission scores between admission methods at the Ho Chi Minh City headquarters.

Accordingly, the minimum score for regular university level for all majors (except pharmacy and law) with general programs is 18 points and with English-enhanced programs is 17 points.

For the law group (including the general program and the English-enhanced program), the minimum score is 18 points. Of which, the minimum score for literature or math is 6 points for combinations with only one of these two subjects; the minimum score for literature and math is 6 points if the combination includes both literature and math.

For the pharmaceutical industry, the threshold for ensuring input quality is implemented according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training . The threshold for ensuring input quality is the total score of the 3 subjects in the admission combination (without multiplying the coefficient and without adding priority points).

Thus, this score decreased by 1 point compared to 2024.

Rules for converting equivalent admission scores between methods

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry has built a correlation function to convert admission scores between admission methods. The construction is based on the results of analyzing the cumulative scores of students' learning outcomes, the admission score distribution of admission methods in the past 2 years, and combined with data from the 2025 high school graduation exam.

The conversion aims to ensure the similarity in input quality between methods, thereby serving as the basis for determining the corresponding admission score for each admission method in 2025.

Explaining the reason for not converting between admission combinations using the high school graduation exam method in 2025, Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan - Head of Training Department, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, said that in the admission combination, the school has proposed 2 core subjects, so conversion is not necessary.
