This regulation applies to 12 member schools of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Specifically, this year, the admission methods of Hanoi National University include: Direct admission, priority admission according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, priority admission according to the regulations of Hanoi National University;
Admission based on high school graduation exam results, meeting the entrance threshold set by Hanoi National University;
Admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Hanoi National University, meeting the prescribed entrance threshold.
In addition, schools can use the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment test, the results of the SAT standardized test (USA), the A-Level international certificate of the Cambridge University Testing Center (UK), and the results of the ACT standardized test.
Training units with specific training programs and majors that use their own admission methods (aptitude tests, interviews combined with high school academic results, high school graduation exam results, competency assessment test results, international certificates, foreign language certificates) or use other admission methods must develop a specific plan and report to the Director of Hanoi National University for consideration and approval.
Foreign language certificates, SAT, ACT, A-Level (if any) and competency assessment test results used in admission must be valid for 2 years from the test date.
Notably, for foreign language certificates used for graduation exam exemption according to current regulations on high school graduation exams, training units convert them into foreign language subject scores to include in the admission subject group with the weighting of the score not exceeding 50%.
Hanoi National University offers the following conversion rates for English certificates to a 10-point scale: Level 5.5 IELTS/72-78 TOEFL iBT becomes 8.5 points; level 6.0 IELTS/79-87 TOEFL iBT becomes 9.0 points; level 6.5 IELTS/88-95 TOEFL iBT becomes 9.5 points and level 7.0-9.0 IELTS/96-120 TOEFL iBT becomes 10 points.
Previously, Hanoi National University issued a decision to assign regular university enrollment targets in 2025 to 12 affiliated member schools, with a total of 20,285 targets (an increase of 2,285 targets compared to the previous year).
