The exhibition brings together the works of 9 photographers from home and abroad: William E. Crawford, Nguyen Huu Bao, Nicolas Cornet, Hoai Linh, Dong Hieu, Le Anh Dung, Le Xuan Phong, Ngo Lam Thanh and Vu Khoi Nguyen. Despite their different styles and starting points, the authors share a lasting love for the Capital, a place that is constantly changing but still retains its charm and simplicity.
In the book “Oh Hanoi ”, each photographer chooses a typical photo collection and shares their own perspective on Hanoi. The lyrics by author Pham Hai Anh act as a red thread connecting the spirit of the entire project, with suggestive keywords such as “leaving a mark”, “making a living”, “quiet”, “poetic”… helping to shape the approach to content and emotions of each author.
Photographer Dong Hieu shared: “I don’t try to idealize Hanoi, I just want to keep the moments that I find beautiful and precious, as a way to preserve them for the future.” He turned his lens on everyday life: street vendors, quiet rows of trees, sunlight on old windows… seemingly small details but creating the overall spirit of a familiar, close Hanoi.

For photographer Le Anh Dung, Hanoi is a place of memories. He confided: “There are things that were once so familiar, but when they gradually disappear, they become incredibly precious.” His works tend toward emotional depth, a quiet, contemplative Hanoi, where silences, glances, or small details are enough to evoke a part of the community’s shared memories.
Not only a visual art exhibition, “Oh Hanoi” is also a journey to preserve urban memories through the language of photography. Here, personal experiences and community memories intersect, creating layers of emotions associated with the cultural depth of the capital. Each frame not only captures a moment, but also evokes values that are gradually fading away, but still silently present in the hearts of Hanoians today.
The photo exhibition "Oh Hanoi" opens at 5:00 p.m. on May 10, 2025 at 23-25 Mac Dinh Chi, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi.
