Da Nang International Fireworks Festival promises many interesting surprises

The Italian team opened the competition night with a performance called “Bright Universe: Symphony of Lights” at the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival - DIFF 2024.

On May 28, at the fireworks display site along the Han River, the atmosphere in preparation for the opening night of the Festival is gradually heating up. The two teams that will open this year’s fireworks festival, Finland and Vietnam, are both working hard to bring the most spectacular fireworks display with the most surprises for the audience.

Under the scorching summer sun, the JoHo Pyro Professional Fireworks AB team from Finland is carefully wiring up the fireworks control system and arranging the order of the fireworks. The Finnish fireworks team is the reigning champion of DIFF 2024, with a long history of achievements in major fireworks competitions around the world .

According to Captain Johan, being the defending champion is a big challenge for the whole team, because they have to surpass their own achievements and continue to conquer the audience. This year there are more teams so the competition is also more fierce. The whole team has been preparing very carefully since right after last year's festival and will try their best to continue the success in this year's festival season.

The Finnish team captain also revealed that with the theme “Cultural Essence”, the Finnish team wanted to connect the culture of a Nordic country with thousands of islands, a long-standing fishing industry, which has many similarities with Vietnamese culture. Along with the colors of Northern Europe, the team brought to DIFF 2025 about 15,000 fireworks of various types with many special types, promising to cause surprises on the opening night.

“When we arrived in Da Nang, we were warmly welcomed. Many thanks to the Organizing Committee and the people of the city. The weather is very hot, but we are well prepared because we have competed in Da Nang many times. We have participated in fireworks competitions in many countries, this is one of the world's leading fireworks stages and we are very excited for the opening night,” Mr. Johan shared.

The defending champion's opponent on the opening night is the Da Nang team. This is a huge pressure, but also an honor for the whole team. Mr. Nghia Hoang, Captain of the Da Nang fireworks team, said that this year the team will use more than 5,000 fireworks, with more than 100 effects, to the background of exciting Rock music, combining Vietnamese and international melodies. The desire of the Vietnamese team is to introduce to domestic and international audiences a culture rich in Vietnamese identity, creating many emotions and impressions.

This year, the new point of the Vietnamese team is the carefully invested music , with the advice of professional musicians, especially many new songs, suitable for young audiences. The script of the competition will consist of 4 parts, from gentle to climax, combining music and fireworks, promising to bring many emotions to the audience. Although having to face the defending champion team, with a long history of international achievements, the Vietnamese team is still very confident, determined to take advantage of the home field and the support of the people of the homeland.

The opening night of DIFF 2025 will take place at 8:00 p.m. on May 31. Along with two spectacular fireworks displays, the opening night of DIFF 2025 will also bring a grand artistic feast with the participation of leading Vietnamese artists such as: singer Tung Duong, singer Kieu Anh, Nguyen Tran Trung Quan, Thu Hang, MC Anh Tuan, MC Luong Thuy Linh...

In particular, DIFF 2025 applies augmented reality (AR) technology to the event for the first time. Through the Sun Paradise Land application, audiences can directly interact with Da Nang's cultural symbols in an expanded virtual reality space, spanning an area of up to 600,000 square meters with about 10 million pixels, a unique technological experience never seen before at previous fireworks festivals.
