On the morning of October 14, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Management Board of the Nam Thanh Holy See (Cao Dai) held a grand ceremony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Cao Dai's founding day according to the religious calendar and summarize the religious activities in 2024.
Representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, a number of central and Ho Chi Minh City agencies and units, and representatives of many prominent religions in the city attended the ceremony.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Huu Nhon (Chi Dat), Chief of the Board of Directors of Nam Thanh Holy See, shared the milestone of the first Congress to establish the Great Third Universal Salvation Religion (Cao Dai Religion) at Cau Kho Holy See (today's Nam Thanh Holy See) exactly 100 years ago, establishing the Declaration of Cao Dai Religion which is now present in many localities across the country.
Nam Thanh Holy See is considered the original Holy See of Cao Dai religion, an indigenous religion of Vietnam.
The Chief of the Board of Management of Nam Thanh Holy See said that over the years, promoting the tradition of being the birthplace of Cao Dai religion, Cao Dai followers and followers of Nam Thanh Holy See have always carried out religious work and studies in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and the law in the spirit of "good religion, beautiful life"; maintaining the good national cultural identity of an endogenous religion of Vietnam.
Throughout its existence, especially in the past 50 years, since the country's reunification, the Nam Thanh Holy See Management Board has always guided and mobilized the Cao Dai Nam Thanh Holy See to unite, love, help each other, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements in the locality, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc, contributing to the process of building and developing the City to become more prosperous and happy.
According to the report of the Management Board of Nam Thanh Holy See, Cao Dai followers and followers of Nam Thanh Holy See actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, participate in social security activities launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City and local authorities such as free medical examination and treatment for the disabled and lonely elderly; give goods and essential necessities to the poor and people facing difficulties in life; give gifts to poor students who overcome difficulties...
During the 2019-2024 term, the Nam Thanh Holy See Management Board completed the construction of Nam Thanh Holy See with a total amount of more than 10 billion VND; carried out free medical examinations, medicine distribution, and gifts for the poor, the elderly, the disabled, and poor students with a total amount of more than 11 billion VND.
In the year 2024, although the living conditions of the majority of followers are still difficult, in addition to activities to care for the Dharma, Cao Dai Nam Thanh Holy See still actively participates in social charity activities, supporting fellow followers such as: carrying out activities to care for and support poor followers in difficult circumstances; giving scholarships to children and siblings of followers...
During the 100th anniversary celebration of the founding of Cao Dai religion in Ho Chi Minh City, the Management Board of the Nam Thanh Holy See launched a fundraising campaign from Cao Dai followers and delegates attending the ceremony to support people affected by storms and floods in the northern localities./.
