First of all, I would like to share a deep personal pride: I was born in 1975, the year Vietnam was fully reunified. This gives me a special sense of attachment and a great responsibility as Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Vietnam.
My love for the country and people of Vietnam was ignited in me when I was a first grader, through the pages of books by Vietnamese authors.
April 30, 1975 is a major historical milestone for Vietnam, a country with a rich history and culture. One of the profound philosophies of the Vietnamese people, in my opinion, is about harmony in life. Like the law of nature, where there is day there must be night, where there is male there must be female; humans need both hands and feet to walk steadily.
Similarly, a nation cannot be complete if it consists of only the North or the South. All Vietnamese people, no matter which region they live in, are brothers and sisters. We Kazakhs, like other Turkic nations, have a very famous proverb: “The most worrying thing is separation.” Unity and harmony are the foundation of strength.
Looking at the map of Vietnam, I see an image of a harmonious balance, with the Central region in the middle and the two ends being the North and the South. I am deeply impressed and admire the courage and determination of the Party and State of Vietnam in the cause of national unification at a difficult historical time, overcoming the challenges of war.
