Colonel Dao Tien, former officer of the General Department of Security - Ministry of Public Security , is known as a multi-talented person in the People's Public Security Force. He paints, writes books, writes poetry (12 works have been published), and composes more than 100 songs. In any field, he brings optimism, love for people and his homeland. Each work is a confession, a life story, the struggles and aspirations of an artist in a soldier's uniform.
In the near future, he will perform the music night "Aspiration to live before the new era" - a program held on the evening of November 19 at Ho Guom Theater, with no tickets sold to pay tribute to teachers and honor the positive and humane spirit of Vietnamese people today.

- Last year, you organized the music night "Thirst for Life", also without selling tickets and raised more than 10 billion VND for the To Hieu Scholarship Fund - spreading the spirit of learning. This time you dedicated the program to teachers, must have your own reasons?
The music night Desire to live before the new era is a symphony of love, pride and aspiration woven from the experiences throughout my years working in the security force. I put into it the emotions, memories and beliefs of a soldier through poetry, painting and especially music .
This is an opportunity for me to show my gratitude to my teachers, not only the teachers in school but also those who have guided, inspired and taught me life lessons, lessons in being a human being in my career and creative journey.
In fact, I was fortunate to have many teachers, comrades, and teammates to guide and support me. But there were teachers who left a very deep impression on me. When I first went to Son La to work, I met a woman who taught me: " My dear, wherever there are compatriots, there is home and love ." Those simple but profound words helped me understand more deeply the meaning of the two words "service".
Or when I was assigned to work on a secondment, my direct superior advised me: "Going there is very difficult, but remember that wherever you are, you will always have your teammates by your side. The most precious thing a person can have is trust."
It is that belief that has helped me overcome many challenges, complete my tasks well and continue to nurture my creative soul.
I hope that after listening to the music of the night, the audience will leave with a heart full of love and trust - trust in people, in life, in the future of the country. If my music touches their hearts, even for a moment, that is the greatest happiness.
- Although you are a security officer, you have an artistic soul, composing music, writing poetry and painting. Is art a way for you to express the difficult things in your special profession?
Yes! Art is my passion, my natural need. There are things that cannot be expressed in words but can be expressed through a poem, a musical note or a painting. For me, each work is a way to talk to myself, to balance and heal my soul after stressful days.
I found healing in songs about the Vietnamese people, loving, sharing, living with compassion and constantly striving. When I look back on the journey I have taken, I see that each note I write is a small belief contributing to the great epic of life.
At this age, I always tell myself to work and create more, as long as I find it meaningful.
- So what is your aspiration to live in your era?
The desire to live, for me, is not something too lofty. It is the spirit of living with morality, knowing how to respect elders, love, share, and help each other. Entering the new era, we need even more the desire to build a strong country, for the happiness of the people. The Fatherland is sacred, the people are great. As Uncle Ho once said: "Vietnam must stand shoulder to shoulder with the great powers of the five continents". That is the desire of our people, and also the message that I want to convey through this music night.
