On the afternoon of November 12, General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense , had a working session with Division 5 (Military Region 7) on the results of military tasks in the first 10 months of the year and directions and tasks in the coming time.

Attending the meeting were Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien and Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, Deputy Ministers of National Defense, and leaders of Military Region 7 Command.

Reporting to Minister Phan Van Giang, Colonel Nguyen Hai Nam, Division Commander of Division 5, said that in the first 10 months of 2025, the Party Committee and unit thoroughly grasped and strictly implemented the resolutions, orders and directives of Military Region 7, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense; focused on comprehensive leadership and direction of all aspects of work, and successfully completed assigned tasks.

Division 5 strictly maintains discipline and combat readiness; regularly organizes training and exercises to improve skills, ensuring that troops are proficient in combat plans, natural disaster prevention, and search and rescue. Weapon systems and technical equipment are well managed and maintained, ready to mobilize when situations arise.

Political and ideological education work is maintained regularly, helping cadres and soldiers to be steadfast, firm, and absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland, and the people. Emulation movements, propaganda work, and political education are promoted, associated with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style; building strong, comprehensive agencies and units that are "exemplary and typical".

During training, Division 5 strictly implemented the military and defense work orders for 2025, organized training according to plan, ensuring safety and high quality; logistics, technical work, and health care for soldiers were ensured; and the material and spiritual life of officers and soldiers was improved.

Speaking at the meeting, General Phan Van Giang praised the spirit of solidarity, will to overcome difficulties and the results that Division 5 has achieved in recent times.

The Minister emphasized that in the remaining time of 2025, the Party Committee and Command of Division 5 need to continue to focus on reviewing the work program and plan, promptly adding new arising tasks; and resolutely and effectively organizing the implementation of assigned tasks.

General Phan Van Giang requested the unit to closely coordinate with local Party committees, authorities and relevant forces to grasp the political security situation, social order and safety, proactively handle situations in a timely manner, and avoid being passive or surprised. At the same time, maintain political security, social order and safety in the stationed area and border areas.

Along with that, Division 5 needs to regularly maintain strict combat readiness, consolidate and supplement forces and equipment; organize training and practice drills, be ready to respond effectively to natural disasters, fires, and search and rescue situations. Education, training, discipline and law enforcement must be promoted, and a solid, regular foundation must be built.

Minister Phan Van Giang also requested Division 5 to continue to perform well in mass mobilization work, coordinate with local authorities and people to participate in socio-economic development, prevent and overcome the consequences of natural disasters and epidemics; contribute to maintaining political security and social order and safety in the area.
