General Phan Van Giang received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Vietnam.

( Bqp.vn ) - On the afternoon of October 18, at the Headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense , General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Vietnam Ha Vi to greet him on the occasion of his new term of office in Vietnam.

At the reception, General Phan Van Giang congratulated Comrade Ha Vi on his new assignment as Ambassador to Vietnam; believing that Ambassador Ha Vi will succeed his predecessor Ambassador Hung Ba in a successful term of office, making positive contributions to the development of the relationship between the two Parties and two countries in general and the Vietnam-China defense cooperation in particular.

General Phan Van Giang affirmed that over the past time, the relationship between the two countries has continuously developed, become more and more substantial and effective, achieved many important results, continued to deepen and elevate the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, and promoted the building of the Vietnam - China Community of Shared Future. Bilateral defense cooperation has always been affirmed as one of the important pillars in the relationship between the two countries, demonstrated through many substantive and effective cooperation contents in the fields of delegation exchanges and contacts at all levels, in which high-level contacts between leaders of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense of the two countries have been promoted by both sides, contributing to strategic orientation for further deepening the defense cooperation relationship. Cooperation between military services,education and training, defense industry, and joint research has been promoted; cooperation between land border protection forces has been continuously enhanced; cooperation at sea between the Navy and Coast Guard continues to be focused on and promoted. In the coming time, especially from now until the end of 2024, it is recommended that the two sides focus on promoting the agreed contents and areas of cooperation, contributing to concretizing the spirit of the Joint Statement of the two countries on "More substantive defense and security cooperation", focusing on a number of delegation exchange activities at all levels, especially high-level delegations.

General Phan Van Giang affirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense supports and creates all favorable conditions for Ambassador Ha Vi to fulfill his responsibilities.

General Phan Van Giang expressed his wish to welcome the leaders of the Central Military Commission and the Chinese Ministry of National Defense to attend the 80th Anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army and the 2nd Vietnam International Defense Exhibition in December 2024; and respectfully invited the Ambassador to attend these very important activities of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense.

Ambassador Ha Vi thanked Minister Phan Van Giang for taking the time to receive him and conveying the greetings of the leaders of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense of China to Minister Phan Van Giang. Ambassador Ha Vi hopes to successfully complete his tasks during his term of office, thereby actively contributing to the development of the relationship between the two Parties, the two States, and the two Armies of Vietnam and China.
