“Good signal” from the young generation
Continuing the passion of folk artisans in the process of preserving traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities are "good signals" coming from today's generation.

Ms. Hoang Thi Hoa, Secretary of the Na Leng Youth Union, Boc Bo Commune, is one of the young people actively participating in preserving the traditional cultural identity of the Mong people. In 2024, Ms. Hoa's project "Indigenous livelihood model associated with preserving the traditional culture of the Mong people" entered the semi-finals of the Northern region of the 10th Green Startup Idea/Project Competition - Sustainable Development, 2024.
The project aims to create livelihoods for the Mong people in Co Linh commune, through cooperation and development of experiential tourism with them. The model has links with many famous panpipe artisans, who both teach young people to play and perform in the evenings. The project also creates additional income for the people through selling products, mostly local products...

Ms. Hoa shared: “I and other folk artists have promoted the preservation of ethnic cultural identity to the people, especially the youth, by organizing study sessions, activities, teaching Mong flute dancing and embroidery”. Currently, Ms. Hoa is also promoting the use of social networks to promote the image of her homeland and sell handmade embroidery products of the Mong people.
Preserving cultural identity is not only popular among union members and youth but also has a wide influence in schools. At Pac Nam Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, with the desire to preserve the Tay ethnic bowl dance, the school's Party Cell has registered the model "Traditional Tay ethnic cultural bowl dance" as the Propaganda model of Pac Nam district in 2024.
To implement the model, the school has actively promoted the participation of cadres, party members, teachers and students in maintaining the practice of the bowl dance in weekly break-time activities; performing the bowl dance at the school's closing and opening ceremonies. The model has received a large response from students. Through that, it contributesto educating students about their pride in traditional cultural identity.

Ms. Ca Thi Hoan, Vice Principal of Pac Nam Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, said: The school has integrated traditional cultural education into subjects, with content about traditional festivals, customs, folk games, folk songs... of ethnic groups. At the same time, it organizes competitions of ethnic folk games. Combined with practicing dances, folk songs, and folk dances of ethnic groups, students will be aware of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values of ethnic groups.
Or the clever mass mobilization model "Mobilizing people in the commune to participate in maintaining and promoting the Luon Coi club of Giao Hieu commune" by Ms. Hoang Thi Hoat, a civil servant of Culture - Society of Giao Hieu commune, has contributed to encouraging people to preserve and conserve good traditional cultural values associated with building a cultural life in residential areas, contributing to participating in building new rural areas in the locality...

This is a good sign for the people of Khau Dang village in particular and Boc Bo commune in general.

Along with that, in 2021, Pac Nam district issued Plan No. 134/KH-UBND on preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups in Pac Nam district, period 2021 - 2025, orientation to 2030 and Plan No. 37/KH-UBND on building, renovating, protecting the environmental landscape towards developing tourism in Pac Nam district in the period 2021 - 2030. In recent years, the movement to preserve cultural heritage has gradually become a regular, proactive and positive activity in villages and hamlets. Every year, clubs, artisans and people meet, exchange, practice and teach. Through that, each person is not only an owner and beneficiary but also an inspiring transmitter of their homeland and the identity of their nation.

With a colorful cultural picture preserved and passed down for hundreds of years, Pac Nam bears the unique mark of the highland land. Pac Nam district authorities always identify culture as an endogenous resource and development driving force for the locality to reach new heights. ./
