Dak Lak: Krong Ana River water rises, hundreds of people flee with their belongings

On the afternoon of November 21, Lieutenant Colonel Y Nem Enuol, Chief of Police of Krong Ana Commune, Dak Lak Province, said that they are mobilizing maximum forces to support the evacuation of people along the Krong Ana River from the flooded area.

Since the morning, heavy rains and rising water levels of the Krong Ana River have caused severe flooding in riverside areas such as Trap village and Binh Hoa village. Authorities have evacuated 400 people and moved many household items to higher ground.

By the afternoon of the same day, the water continued to rise, and many more areas were severely flooded. Currently, the police force is trying to evacuate people to safety, avoiding human casualties.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Be (born in 1970, residing in Trap village) said, "There has never been a year when the flood water was as terrible as this year. My house is now heavily flooded and I have to take temporary shelter at a relative's house. My assets and machinery were not moved in time and were damaged by the flood."

In Ea Na commune ( Dak Lak province), residential areas along the Krong Ana river such as Quynh Ngoc village, Hoa Trung village, Mlot village, To Lo village were heavily flooded, and authorities also quickly assisted in evacuating people to safety. By the afternoon of November 21, 69 houses were flooded.
