When attending Nam Phong’s funeral in his hometown of Ca Mau, Doan Minh Tai felt deeply about life and love. He commented that this was not a funeral with lavish wreaths or boisterous noise, but only a few colleagues quietly came to burn incense to bid farewell to a person who had lived a gentle and kind life.
Doan Minh Tai recalled Nam Phong's invitation: "When you have free time, come back to my hometown, I will take you to eat some delicious dishes from the West." He promised but let the promise drift away with work, with the days. Yet today, he returned to Nam Phong's hometown in a way that no one expected: to see his friend off for the last time.
The actor said Nam Phong lived a decent, kind, quiet life but not anonymously. He did not need to stand on a big stage, he just needed someone to truly remember him. Doan Minh Tai called on the rest to cherish each other, not to hesitate to ask after each other, to meet once with those they called brothers, friends, and colleagues.
Miss Phan Thi Mo and Doan Minh Tai came from Ho Chi Minh City to Ca Mau to say goodbye to Nam Phong for the last time. She expressed her deep condolences and remembered Nam Phong as a person who always loved to help his younger brothers with everything he had. For Phan Thi Mo, this was the first time she had come to Ca Mau but it was her time to say goodbye to Nam Phong. She wished him a peaceful place and said that everyone missed him very much.

Late at night, after receiving the bad news, singer Nguyen Vu could not hold back his emotions when sharing about his close friend who had passed away. He described Nam Phong as a friend, a colleague, a brother who used to be close. This sudden departure left Nguyen Vu's heart aching and his mind empty.
Nguyen Vu recalls the special relationship the two had. They were so close that they could understand each other's thoughts just by looking at each other. When they were sad, they could just text each other "Want a drink?" and they would understand. When they were happy, they would send each other a picture and laugh all day.
The male singer commented that Nam Phong was not noisy but familiar as a part of his breath, now that it was gone, he felt empty and cold. He sat looking at the profile picture of Nam Phong that was still there but behind it was a closed door.
Nguyen Vu confided that he was not ready to say goodbye and hoped that if there was an afterlife, the two would still be friends.
